Quang Ngai Chairman requests quick investigation into shooting of two female workers

On the afternoon of October 5, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province Dang Van Minh issued an urgent document regarding the shooting of two female workers while working.

Accordingly, the Provincial Chairman requested the Director of Public Security to direct functional units to urgently conduct an investigation and search for the perpetrators to strictly handle them according to the provisions of the law.

Previously, at around 1:00 a.m. the same day, Ms. Le Thi Minh Khai and Ms. Vo Thi Luu (employees of Quang Ngai Urban Environment Joint Stock Company) were working on Pham Van Dong Street (Nghia Chanh Ward, Quang Ngai City).

At this time, Ms. Khai reminded a group of young men who were driving to not go near the garbage truck to avoid an accident. This group turned around and started a fight, beating Ms. Khai. Ms. Luu tried to stop them, but was also beaten.

Here, a young man pulled out a gun and shot Ms. Khai and Ms. Luu in the legs, causing both of them to be injured and lose a lot of blood. The group of young men left shortly after.

People living nearby heard the gunshots and rushed to the Phuc Hung General Hospital for emergency treatment. X-rays showed that both women had bullets in their thighs and calves.

The company is working with authorities to extract camera footage from the area where the incident occurred to track down the suspect. Company leaders also visited and supported the two female workers.

By 1:00 p.m. the same day, the two victims had undergone surgery to remove the bullets from their bodies and their health was temporarily stable.
