On the evening of October 18, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, had a meeting with Mr. Kover Laszlo, Chairman of the Hungarian National Assembly, who had just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and begun an official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .

Informing the delegation, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh said that Ho Chi Minh City has just merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces to form a "super city". After the merger, Ho Chi Minh City contributes about 1/3 of the national budget and its economic scale accounts for about 1/4 of the whole country.

He affirmed that after the merger, Ho Chi Minh City is trying to promote its advantages to develop more strongly and sustainably in the coming time, especially in areas such as marine economy, tourism, industry associated with oil and gas, seaports, high-tech industry...
Notably, Ho Chi Minh City is promoting the construction of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City.


At the meeting, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh expressed his pleasure to welcome Chairman of the Hungarian National Assembly Kover Laszlo to visit Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (February 3, 1950 - February 3, 2025).
Mr. Vo Van Minh also mentioned the visit of two high-ranking delegations of Hungarian leaders to Vietnam and the visit of Hungarian President Sulyok Tamas and his wife at the end of May, assessing that the relationship between Vietnam and Hungary is increasingly close and strong.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh expressed his hope that more and more Hungarian enterprises would come to invest and develop production and business in the city. At the same time, he continued to strengthen friendly cooperation and people-to-people diplomacy between the city and Hungarian localities.

In response, Hungarian National Assembly Speaker Kover Laszlo thanked the Ho Chi Minh City leaders for their warm welcome. He also expressed his pleasure to visit and witness the remarkable development of Vietnam today.
He said he visited Vietnam 10 years ago and said that Ho Chi Minh City has developed significantly in all aspects compared to a decade ago.


National Assembly Speaker Kover Laszlo said Hungary always encourages businesses to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
He also expressed his hope that Ho Chi Minh City will continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for Hungarian enterprises to cooperate, do business and strengthen friendly cooperation with Hungarian localities.
