Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is on a two-day official visit to China. This is his first visit to China as Prime Minister .
Speaking at the reception for Mr. Mishustin, Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that strengthening and developing China-Russia relations is not only the aspiration of the people of the two countries, but also the trend of the times. He said that cooperation between the two countries has “vast space, open prospects and strong momentum”, so the two sides need to continue to promote these advantages, “ bring cooperation in various fields to new heights”, and continuously enrich the content of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries in the new era.

He reaffirmed that China is willing to continue to firmly support each other with Russia on issues related to each other's core interests, and strengthen cooperation in multilateral forums such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS and the G20.
According to Chinese President Xi Jinping, the two sides need to continue to deepen their potential, improve the level of economic , trade and investment cooperation, improve bilateral cooperation institutions and mechanisms, consolidate and expand the energy and connectivity cooperation platform, and create more new growth points. He also said that he is willing to cooperate with Russia and the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union to promote the cooperation connection between the “Belt and Road” and this alliance, in order to promote the formation of a more open regional large market, ensure the stability and smoothness of the global industrial chain and supply chain, and bring practical benefits to countries in the region.
For his part, according to Xinhua News Agency, Russian Prime Minister Mishustin affirmed that Moscow is ready to work with Beijing to take advantage of regular meetings between the two countries' Prime Ministers and related cooperation mechanisms to deepen practical cooperation in various fields between the two sides.
Earlier the same day, Chinese Premier Li Qiang held talks with his Russian counterpart, praising the Beijing-Moscow comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, saying he is ready to cooperate with Russia to bring bilateral relations to a new level.
Prime Minister Mishustin is the highest-ranking Russian official to visit China since the Ukraine conflict broke out in February 2022.
