Prepare carefully for the high school graduation exam

As of April 28, the whole province had 11,237 candidates registered for the 2025 high school graduation exam (of which 11,057 were generaleducation candidates and 180 were continuing education candidates). According to the Exam Steering Committee, the Examination Council is located at the Department of Education and Training, with 470 examination rooms (each examination room has no more than 24 candidates); organized into 17 official examination sites and 2 backup examination sites, including 7 examination sites in Ca Mau City and 10 examination sites in districts (except Ngoc Hien district).

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luan, Director of the Department of Education and Training, Deputy Head of the Provincial Examination Steering Committee, said: “The Department of Education and Training directs schools to perform their professional tasks well. Implement well the review and practice program and organize mock exams to gain experience to help students/trainees review knowledge closely and have test-taking skills. Provide guidance and answer questions related to the exam for students/trainees and parents of students/trainees, especially about the new points of this year's exam.”

To achieve good results in the upcoming exam, Vo Thi Hong High School not only teaches and strengthens review, but also regularly reminds students to have a good learning attitude and to try their best.

At Vo Thi Hong High School (Khanh Binh Tay Commune, Tran Van Thoi District), this school year the school has 9 12th grade classes, with 320 students. Because this is the first school year implementing the 2018 General Education Program for 12th grade, the school flexibly organizes review sessions to ensure time, focusing on the knowledge and skills requirements of the program, helping students understand and apply them when taking the exam.

Mr. Tran Thanh Son, the school's principal, shared: "The school bases on the structure of the reference exam set of the Ministry of Education and Training to direct professional groups to study the exam structure and adjust the graduation exam review plan accordingly. During class time, teachers try to review the most important parts and give students more practice questions at home. The school will create all conditions to provide students with enough knowledge to confidently enter the exam."

Tac Van High School (Tac Van Commune, Ca Mau City) has 12 12th grade classes, with 487 students. To prepare students for the best exam results, in addition to teaching according to the program distribution, the school increases 2 periods/week/subject for students to review. In the process of reviewing knowledge for students, teachers closely follow the exam structure of the Department of Education and Training. At the same time, teachers prepare their own review questions, share review content with each other, with teachers of other schools; research and collect review content on the Internet.

In addition to consolidating knowledge in class, Ms. To Thuy Quyen, a Literature teacher at Tac Van High School (Ca Mau City), also encourages 12th grade students to participate in group study, discuss with teachers and friends to get their questions answered, improve their thinking ability, and handle exam questions.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Khiem Truan, Vice Principal in charge of Tac Van High School, shared: “To properly assess students' learning ability, after finishing the main curriculum, the school reviews, screens, and groups students according to their ability and academic performance for review, especially for those at risk of failing graduation, from which teachers are assigned to tutor, increase class time, practice test-taking skills, how to identify right/wrong questions, and comprehensive review exercises so that students can focus on the 4 exam subjects.”

To prepare well for the exam to take place safely and in accordance with regulations, the Department of Education and Training has organized a team to survey the facilities of 22 schools to select test locations and promptly complete the facilities for the exam. The Department of Education and Training has organized training for those involved in organizing the exam; trained teachers of affiliated units on exam registration; mobilized teachers to participate in the exam; estimated budget, stationery, purchased equipment for the exam; drafted a plan for organizing the exam; and provided instructions on organizing the exam.

At the same time, direct schools to prepare and create favorable conditions for travel, meals and accommodation for candidates and their relatives at the exam sites, especially candidates in difficult circumstances, remote areas, ethnic minority areas, candidates with disabilities; have practical forms of mobilization and support, not letting them miss the exam due to lack of expenses or means to get to the exam location”./.
