The list of programs includes: Natural sciences (field code 42); Life sciences (field code 44); Mathematics and statistics (field code 46); Computer and information technology (field code 48); Engineering technology (field code 51); Engineering (field code 52); Production and processing (field code 54); Architecture and construction (field code 58).
Program standards are the minimum general requirements applicable to training programs for level 7 engineers, masters, and integrated masters in STEM training fields, including: objectives, output standards, input standards, minimum study volume, structure and content, teaching methods, teaching staff, facilities, learning materials, research capacity, innovation and international cooperation, conditions to ensure quality according to international standards; infrastructure conditions and development and creative space for lecturers and learners to demonstrate their outstanding abilities.
Specifically, regarding the entrance standards, direct admission is for students who have graduated from high school or equivalent level, and have won first, second, or third prizes in national excellent student competitions, international Olympic competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, or Biology; the time of winning the prize is not more than 3 years from the time of direct admission.
For the admission method based on the results of the High School Graduation Exam, the combination of subjects for admission must meet the following requirements: Math and at least one subject in the natural science group are required; the total score of the combination of subjects for admission must be in the group of 20% of candidates with the highest scores nationwide in the same combination; the training institution shall specify other conditions (if any) but the maximum bonus score is 5% of the total admission score.
Regarding output standards, talent training programs are developed at a higher level in line with international standards, reflecting deep expertise and integration capacity. The output standards of the level 7 talent engineer training program must ensure the equivalent of a master's degree according to the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.
The talent training program is designed for learners with different talent tendencies and strengths to actively participate in scientific research, technology transfer, innovation and entrepreneurship activities to meet the requirements of their talent tendencies.
For students with a natural aptitude for science, one of the following criteria must be met: Participate in specialized research groups in the field of training and have scientific publications, in which they are the main author or co-author of at least one article in a prestigious international journal (WoS/Scopus), with confirmation of professional contributions; Participate and complete courses on research methods, in-depth academics and modern analytical tools, and have evidence of research results through peer-reviewed conference reports, applied and transferred research products or highly appreciated by professional councils.
For learners with a tendency towards technology, one of the following criteria must be met: Participate in product development research groups or research and development projects with potential for practical application or commercialization; be the main author or co-author of at least one invention or utility solution that has been filed and accepted; Play a leading role in implementing and realizing research results, through technology transfer activities, application in enterprises, or recognized at prestigious scientific and technological competitions and seminars, and demonstrate innovation capacity and the ability to commercialize products.
For learners with an aptitude for business, management and leadership, one of the following criteria must be met: Participate and play a key role in practical projects such as developing business plans, operating simulated business models or providing strategic consulting for organizations; and be primarily responsible for or represent the presentation of at least one outstanding business project at academic, startup or innovation competitions at the national or international level; Demonstrate strategic management thinking and decision-making capacity in complex environments, through the development and implementation of creative, feasible and adaptable solutions to practical contexts; and demonstrate effective leadership and coordination capacity in a group or organization.
The Ministry of Education and Training also requires training institutions to apply a periodic screening mechanism by school year to ensure training quality, support learners to maintain motivation, academic capacity, and a minimum cumulative GPA of good level. Learners who do not meet the prescribed screening requirements will be transferred to the corresponding standard training program or related major.
