The first Congress of the Party Committee of Buon Don Commune, term 2025 - 2030, will open a new development path for this majestic borderland. With the motto of the congress "Solidarity - Democracy - Confidence - Breakthrough - Development", the Party Committee of the commune leads the political system, cadres, soldiers, party members and people of all ethnic groups to build a rich, civilized and unique Buon Don commune, bringing the commune into the era of national development.

Imprints on the border

Buon Don (formerly Krong Na commune) is one of the four land border communes of the province. With a natural area of 111,161.97 hectares, Buon Don is the largest commune in the country, with a 45.542 km long border, adjacent to Mondulkiri province (Kingdom of Cambodia). This land has 15 ethnic groups living together, of which ethnic minorities account for 76.8%. Cultural and geographical diversity has created a colorful picture of Buon Don.

Looking back at the 2020 - 2025 term, Buon Don has recorded comprehensive and proud results. Most of the main goals, tasks and targets have been achieved and exceeded the set plan. The economy has developed; infrastructure has received investment; culture - society has progressed; the material and spiritual life of the people has been improved.

One of the bright spots of Buon Don is the development of tourism and culture. This place is not only associated with the legendary elephant hunting profession, but also possesses the unique dipterocarp forest ecosystem of Yok Don National Park. Along with that are many beautiful landscapes, attractive tourist destinations associated with unique festivals of the Ede, M'nong, and Lao ethnic communities living peacefully along the poetic Serepok River. Realizing this great potential, the locality has proactively implemented many creative forms of promotion, attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, while promoting investment in the tourism industry. Propaganda activities, cultural and artistic activities, sports, competitions, and performances take place enthusiastically and widely from communes to villages, creating a joyful, exciting, and united atmosphere among the people, contributing to serving the local political tasks well.

As a border commune, national defense and security work is always given top priority and comprehensively strengthened. Thanks to that, political security is always maintained, social order and safety are guaranteed. Military forces, police, border guards and working teams stationed in the area regularly patrol, monitor the area, ensure security and order in villages and hamlets, protect major holidays, important events of the country and maintain border security.

Currently, the Commune Party Committee has 18 grassroots party organizations with 468 party members. Political and ideological education for cadres and party members is focused on. Party member development work is focused on leadership and direction, with annual results reaching and exceeding set targets, and quality improving.

New expectations, aspirations to grow

Entering the 2025 - 2030 term, on the basis of maximizing existing potentials and strengths, the Party Committee of Buon Don commune sets the goal: Rapid and sustainable socio-economic development; improving the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people to reach the average level of the whole country. This goal will be realized based on promoting the unique cultural identity of ethnic groups, making the most of the potentials, advantages and space of new development space; innovating, strongly applying science and technology, promoting innovation, and at the same time transforming the economic model towards green economy, circular economy and digital economy.

The elephant festival is held annually in Buon Don, attracting a large number of tourists.

Combining economic development with ensuring social security, improving the quality of education, taking care of people's health, protecting the ecological environment and firmly ensuring national defense and security. Building and consolidating the solidarity of the entire Party, the entire army and the entire people to join hands to build a clean, strong Party organization and political system that operates effectively and efficiently, contributing to the whole country firmly entering a new era - the era of national development.

To achieve that consistent goal, the Party Committee of the commune has set out groups of targets, key tasks, solutions and three breakthroughs.

Firstly, make a breakthrough in personnel work towards streamlining, operating effectively, efficiently and effectively. Innovate and enhance the role of Party organizations, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at the commune level. Promote people's mastery, effectively implement the motto "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise and people benefit".

Second, focus on leading the development of high-quality tourism, maximizing the potential of landscape, nature, tradition, national identity... to form large-scale tourist areas and tourist destinations associated with community tourism, agricultural tourism, eco-resort tourism, cultural tourism, and scientific research.

Third, digital transformation is associated with administrative reform, applying information technology in management, operation and handling of administrative procedures.

With firm belief in the leadership of the Party, promoting the tradition of solidarity and steadfast revolutionary will, cadres, soldiers, party members and people of Buon Don commune will strive to promote dynamism and creativity, seize opportunities, overcome all difficulties and challenges. From there, arouse aspirations, join hands, be unanimous, and determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the Congress, bringing Buon Don to sustainable development, prosperity, civilization and identity, becoming a bright spot in the border region of the Fatherland.
