Join hands to build advanced new rural communes

Implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Development (NTM), in recent years, Tu Vu commune, Thanh Thuy district has done a good job of coordinating between political and social organizations, mobilizing people to participate in building advanced NTM, model residential areas with specific and practical actions. Thereby, gradually improving people's lives, the appearance of the countryside is increasingly improved.

Immediately after Tu Vu commune was established on the basis of merging 3 communes: Tu Vu (old), Yen Mao and Phuong Mao in 2020, the commune was recognized as meeting the NTM standards. In order for the commune to continue to maintain, sustain and on the way to building advanced NTM, comrade Khuat Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said: "In the process of building advanced NTM, we always receive the attention, leadership and direction of the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee, the participation of Party committees at all levels, the government and especially the consensus of the people. Thereby, many creative ways have been promoted, contributing to mobilizing many resources for building NTM".

The project "Lighting up the countryside roads" jointly constructed by the Provincial Business Bloc Union and the Youth Union of Phu Tho Electricity Company was inaugurated and put into use, contributing to creating a new look for the locality.

To achieve the set goals, the Party Committee issued a Resolution on building advanced new-style rural communes and model new-style rural residential areas; a Resolution on socio -economic development and established a Steering Committee to implement the program on building advanced new-style rural communes and model new-style rural areas for the period 2021-2025. In particular, agricultural, forestry and fishery production continued to remain stable, with food output in 2023 estimated at 5,200 tons, achieving the planned target. Concentrated production in chains continued to be expanded, with production linkage and product consumption models. The value of products obtained per hectare of cultivated land in 2023 was estimated at 127 million VND/ha, an increase of 2.4% over the same period. Livestock development has been stable, shifting from small-scale, scattered farming to large-scale farming and household farming but applying science and technology. Aquaculture has been planned to be stable on the "1 rice, 1 fish" area, with an estimated annual fish output of 200 tons. A typical example is the cage fish farming model on Vai Vit Lake, which maintains 42 cages, with an estimated output of 42 tons/year...

In difficult market conditions, the Commune People's Committee has proactively promoted businesses to proactively implement many solutions to overcome difficulties, contributing to stabilizing job creation and income for workers. The value of some products increased significantly compared to the same period, such as: Burnt bricks (up 5.6%); trading of sand, gravel, construction materials (up 4.2%)... Small-scale handicrafts continued to maintain production, contributing to job creation and increasing income for workers. In 2023, the average income per capita is estimated to reach 50.2 million VND/person/year.

Besides the advantages, the commune also has many difficulties. As a mountainous commune, the need for resources to invest in building an advanced NTM commune in the locality is very large. However, mobilizing socialized capital is very difficult because the people mainly live on agriculture, the Muong ethnic group accounts for nearly 70%, the average income per capita is not high, while the area has very few enterprises and production and business establishments with large production models, so it is difficult to mobilize social resources. Up to now, through comparison and preliminary assessment of the Advanced NTM Criteria Set, the commune has only met 11/19 criteria, and 8 criteria have not been met: Traffic; irrigation and natural disaster prevention; Culture; Trade; Income; Health; Production organization and rural economic development; Environment... The whole commune has residential area No. 1 recognized by the District People's Committee as the first model NTM residential area of ​​the commune.

Cutting grass and cleaning the flower street project of the Veterans Association Branch 1, Tu Vu commune makes the streets greener, cleaner and more beautiful.

According to the local leader, Tu Vu strives to become an advanced NTM commune by 2025. Accordingly, the poverty rate will be under 3%, the average income per capita will be from 60 million VND or more, the rate of people participating in health insurance will reach over 95%, and there will be at least 2/19 model residential areas.

With the high determination of the entire political system and people, Tu Vu commune promotes the strength of great solidarity, determined to strive to complete the Advanced New Rural Construction Program in the area according to the set roadmap.
