After a period of studying the policy mechanism and conditions, on August 16, Thuy Duong Investment Joint Stock Company (TD Group) held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Night Square project - a closed entertainment service, hotel and office complex at the intersection of Vo Nguyen Giap - Mai Nang, Hai Phong city.
Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of TD Group Nguyen Van Luan said: With a total investment of over 700 billion VND, the project is deployed on an area of nearly 2 hectares, with construction works with the functions of offices-apartments, hotels, adjacent shophouses for commercial business and culinary and entertainment services.
Notably, when the project is completed, activities here will take place from the evening of the previous day to the early morning of the next day, with the aim of creating a new space and diversifying economic activities, especially the night-time economic model, contributing to Hai Phong's economic growth.
According to Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong Tran Thi Hoang Mai, with the participation of TD Group through the Night Square project, Hai Phong will have another attractive destination to retain domestic and foreign tourists; it is expected that Hai Phong will have a nightlife district like Shibuya Street in Tokyo (Japan), Itaewon Street in Seoul (Korea) or Ta Hien Street (Hanoi), Bui Vien (Ho Chi Minh City), contributing to promoting Hai Phong to become one of the pioneering localities in implementing the Project on Nighttime Economic Development in Vietnam approved by the Government under Decision No. 1129/QD-TTg dated July 27, 2020.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong Tran Thi Hoang Mai also said: Implementing the Project "Some models for developing night tourism products" (according to Decision 1894/QD-BVHTTDL, dated July 14, 2023 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Hai Phong has had a number of night tourism models piloted and deployed in the form of walking streets (Tam Bac, The Lu, Quang Trung, Van Huong route...), combined with shopping areas, food courts, convenience stores, night markets, bars and some street art and entertainment activities, contributing to attracting domestic and foreign tourists; In the first 7 months of 2025, Hai Phong tourism welcomed and served 9.37 million visitors, an increase of 29.78% over the same period.
