From June 20-23, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam coordinated with the People's Committee of Hanoi, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan and Aeon Group to organize the event Vietnamese Goods Week at Aeon Japan in 2024.

This is an annual activity organized to promote Vietnamese goods to participate in distribution chains in other countries. This year, the program has the participation of more than 100 product codes at more than 300 stores from agricultural products, food, textiles, household appliances...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang said that the Vietnamese Government always encourages and creates conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to connect and become a link in the global supply chain in general and in the Aeon system in particular.

“The Vietnamese Goods Week at the Aeon Japan system has been held annually and maintained for many years, serving as a bridge to help bring Aeon customers and, more broadly, Japanese consumers closer to Vietnam, to understand and love the country and people of Vietnam more. This is also a useful activity that contributes to promoting the development of the Vietnam - Japan relationship, which has been good for many years,” said Ms. Phan Thi Thang.

According to Ms. Mitsuko Tsuchiya, Deputy General Director of AEON Group and General Director of AEON TOPVALU Japan, AEON Group has always strived to promote investment in Vietnam and import and export of commercial goods between the two countries. In particular, the group has brought Vietnamese products into the supermarket system not only in Vietnam but also in Japan and around the world. AEON is the first unit to sell Vietnamese lychee in Japan in 2020, and also the first unit to sell longan in Japan in 2023.

Ms. Mitsuko Tsuchiya said that the focus of this year's Goods Week is on items such as: bananas, lychees, longans, shrimp, octopus, catfish, rice paper, chili sauce, wood products, and Vietnamese health care products displayed to introduce to Japanese customers. In addition, there are also stalls selling Vietnamese cuisine such as: Hello Bread; Delicious Pho; Vietnamese Coffee; Vietnamese Mixed Fruit, Vietnamese Dessert/Pudding.

AEON also brings private label TOPVALU products with ingredients originating from Vietnam such as: Vietnamese beef porridge, grilled saba fish, grilled sweet potatoes, frozen mango, Vietnamese cashew nuts... The Organizing Committee also introduces recipes and menus with delicious Vietnamese dishes, helping Japanese customers to prepare their favorite dishes at home.

Ms. Mitsuko Tsuchiya affirmed that in the coming time, AEON will continue to make efforts to promote activities to introduce Vietnamese products to international markets through the group's retail system.
