Green transition is no longer an option but an inevitable requirement

(Chinhphu.vn) - Today (April 16), in Hanoi, the Policy Dialogue Forum with the theme "Encouraging investment, business, promoting innovative startups in the field of green transformation" took place within the framework of the Summit of the Partnership Forum for Green Growth and the Global Goals 2030 (P4G 2025).

With the participation of more than 300 delegates including leaders of ministries, branches, international organizations, businesses, investors, domestic and international experts, the event was chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology to create an open dialogue forum between management agencies, the private sector and support organizations, together building a creative startup ecosystem to serve the goal of green transformation and sustainable development in Vietnam.

In his opening speech at the Forum, Mr. Hoang Minh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, emphasized that green transformation is no longer an option but an inevitable requirement. To realize the net zero goal by 2050, Vietnam needs to continue promoting innovation, mobilizing investment resources and creating a favorable environment for innovative start-ups to develop sustainably.

Within the framework of the program, delegates listened to many in-depth presentations from leading experts and international organizations, including Dr. Pham Hong Quat - Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises, Ministry of Science and Technology; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho - Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; and Dr. Malle Fofana - Director of Asia, Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

In addition, the discussion session with the participation of leaders and representatives from P4G, State of Green, National Innovation Center, biomaterials startup Buyo Bioplastics and Touchstone investment fund brought about lively exchanges on the potential for multilateral cooperation, green finance mechanisms and how to balance economic - environmental - social growth in the creative startup ecosystem.

Concluding the Forum, Mr. Pham Hong Quat - Director of the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises, Ministry of Science and Technology affirmed: "We are committed to continuing to be a bridge between entities in the ecosystem, accompanying policy makers, businesses and international partners to realize sustainable development initiatives through green innovation".

The forum has contributed to shaping policy priorities, promoting public-private cooperation and creating new momentum for green startup initiatives in Vietnam during the comprehensive transition towards net zero emissions./.
