The Malaysian team will play the Vietnamese team on June 10 at Bukit Jalil Stadium in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). This is a match in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
Before that, Malaysia will have two international friendly matches with Cape Verde, a team from the West African region, currently ranked 72nd in FIFA.

Malaysian football circles are now placing high expectations on the match against Cape Verde. Former player Hasnizam Uzir shared: "The Malaysian team has experienced many international friendlies in the past few years, but there has never been a match like this."
"In the past few years, the Malaysian team has not faced many challenges in friendly matches, compared to the upcoming match against Cape Verde. They will be a big challenge for us, in a way we have not seen in the past few years," added former Malaysian player Hasnizam Uzir.
In addition, Mr. Hasnizam Uzir also commented that the two matches with Cape Verde (on May 29 and June 3) will be an opportunity for coach Peter Cklamovski of the Malaysian team to assess the readiness of his players before the match with the Vietnamese team.

Former player Hasnizam Uzir said: "The matches against Cape Verde will push the Malaysian players to their limits. The good physical condition of this African team will be a catalyst to help the Malaysian players become stronger, before competing with the Vietnamese team."
Meanwhile, Malaysian football expert Datuk Dr Pekan Ramli expressed his opinion: "It is an honor for the Malaysian team to play against a team of Cape Verde's caliber. This team was ranked 27th in FIFA in 2014."
"Although they are currently ranked 72nd in FIFA, it has been a long time since a team with such a high ranking played a friendly match with the Malaysian team.
The two Blue Sharks (nickname of the Cape Verde team) matches will help Malaysia improve its form before facing the Vietnam team," said football expert Datuk Dr Pekan Ramli.
