Chinese expert: Ho Chi Minh's ideology is a valuable asset for Vietnam to enter a new era

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, Professor Phan Kim Nga, senior researcher of the Institute of Marxism Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences , praised President Ho Chi Minh - the founder of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, a great revolutionary, strategist, and outstanding moralist; and the leader of the anti-colonial struggle movement in Asia, Africa, and Latin America in the 20th century, an important figure in the history of the international communist movement.

According to Professor Phan Kim Nga, President Ho Chi Minh’s contributions were not only reflected in the cause of national liberation and nation building in Vietnam, but also had a profound impact on the anti-colonial struggle in the world and the world socialist movement. He made important contributions to Vietnam and the international community.

In Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh led the movement for independence, founded the Communist Party of Vietnam, fought against the French and the Americans; devoted his whole life to the cause of national unification. He led Vietnam in the process of building socialism in politics, economy, culture, implementing land reform, poverty reduction and national unity policies.

"In the international arena, he persevered in the spirit of internationalism, joined the French Communist Party, actively cooperated with leaders of other socialist countries and had close relations with the Chinese revolution. Together with Chinese leaders Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and revolutionaries of previous generations, he built the traditional friendship between China and Vietnam as both comrades and brothers, which is still a precious spiritual asset of the two Parties, two countries and two peoples," the Chinese scholar commented.

As a representative of the Communist International, Ho Chi Minh supported revolutionary movements in other countries, especially actively participating in the anti-colonial struggle and the proletarian revolutionary movement in China, Laos and Cambodia.

Professor Phan Kim Nga shared: “On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, communists around the world, including the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people, and those who love peace and progress, come together to remember President Ho Chi Minh!”

According to her, whether during the period of socialist revolution or socialist renovation in Vietnam, President Ho Chi Minh's status as a national hero and spiritual leader has never been shaken. In 2019, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) honored him as "Vietnamese Hero of National Liberation and Great Man of Culture", marking the international community's recognition of his historic contributions.

The Chinese professor shared: “I still clearly remember that on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday, I went to Hanoi to attend an international scientific conference organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Communist and Marxist scholars from many countries around the world, including China, Laos, France, England and Latin America, expressed their deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh. At the conference, delegates expressed their deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh and deeply felt that the appeal of President Ho Chi Minh as a hero of Vietnamese national liberation and an outstanding cultural figure continues to shine in the new era.”

Referring to the spirit of solidarity according to President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, Professor Phan Kim Nga said that under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the Communist Party of Vietnam, after a long and arduous struggle, on April 30, 1975, Vietnam completed the liberation of the South, reunified the country, proving in practice the famous saying of President Ho Chi Minh: "Unity, unity, great unity! Success, success, great success!". The unity of the entire Vietnamese people is the greatest guarantee for the victory of the Vietnamese revolution.

She related to the current context, under the leadership of General Secretary To Lam, Vietnam is about to enter a “new era - the era of national development” and is facing great opportunities and challenges. As General Secretary To Lam stated not long ago, all Vietnamese people, no matter where they live, no matter what their past is, can join hands, contribute to building a bright future for the nation, striving to turn Vietnam into a developed socialist country by the middle of this century.

Professor Phan Kim Nga assessed that combining national strength with the strength of the times is an important content in Ho Chi Minh's thought and is a summary of the victorious experience of the Vietnamese revolution. As General Secretary To Lam affirmed: "The new era that we are entering, with artificial intelligence technology, digital transformation, green economy and sustainable development, requires new thinking, new development models, new people... history has proven: the Vietnamese people have never backed down in the face of hardships, difficulties and challenges. The problem is whether we have enough courage to change, enough will to rise up, and enough solidarity to turn difficulties into development motivation or not".

In conclusion, Professor Phan Kim Nga expressed her belief that the Vietnamese people will remember President Ho Chi Minh's last wishes, continue to unite, write a new page of history for the glorious development of the Vietnamese nation, build an independent, free, happy, prosperous, civilized Vietnam in the middle of this century, and realize President Ho Chi Minh's long-cherished wish: Vietnam can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers!
