This is an opportunity for people to witness firsthand the life and work of officers, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district; to exchange, chat, visit and encourage officers and soldiers. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for people to express their love and responsibility for their homeland's sea and islands through specific, practical and meaningful actions and contributions.

The first time he set foot on Truong Sa, Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Head of the Working Group, emotionally shared: "Only when I set foot on Truong Sa, witnessing with my own eyes the efforts and silent sacrifices of the soldiers and people on the remote island, did I truly feel the sacred meaning of the Fatherland. This is a journey affirming patriotism, connecting the Vietnamese community around the world with the motherland of Vietnam".

Mr. Hoang Xuan Binh, an overseas Vietnamese in Poland, shared: "I am extremely moved and proud to attend the program. Through the trip, I clearly felt the hardships, difficulties, as well as the strong will of the officers and soldiers who are protecting the sea and islands day and night. The trip helped me realize that Truong Sa is not far away - Truong Sa is always in the heart of every Vietnamese person".

Returning to Sinh Ton Island after 10 years, Ms. Truong Thi Hong, an overseas Vietnamese in Israel, shared: "I am very moved when the lives of officers and soldiers on the island have improved a lot. The constructions on the island are more solid and sturdy, especially the green color of trees has appeared in many places. Through that, it shows that Vietnam is increasingly developing and prosperous, as well as the determination of the Party and State in taking care of the lives of naval officers and soldiers. This helps us overseas Vietnamese feel more secure."

Ms. Cao Ha Linh, an overseas Vietnamese in Singapore, said: "I am very honored to set foot on the islands under Vietnam's sovereignty. I feel truly lucky and proud that my country has people who are sticking to the islands day and night, maintaining the sovereignty of the Fatherland." Ms. Cao Ha Linh said that she will widely spread information about Truong Sa and this sea route to the Vietnamese community in Singapore, especially the younger generation.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, a Cambodian expatriate, was moved: "The voyage helped me feel the solidarity and connection of overseas Vietnamese all over the world. The overseas Vietnamese delegates all share a strong belief and love for the Fatherland in general and the sea and islands in particular."

Specific actions, deep affection

Not stopping at emotions, overseas Vietnamese express their love for the Fatherland through practical actions. During this voyage, overseas Vietnamese donated more than 2 billion VND in cash, gifts and in-kind contributions to programs such as greening Truong Sa, building multi-purpose cultural houses, buying necessities, medical equipment, and school supplies to send to officers, soldiers and people on the islands and DK-I Platform.

From 2012 to present, the total amount of money overseas Vietnamese donated to Truong Sa and DK-I House has reached nearly 30 billion VND, used to build sovereignty boats, build civil works, and contribute to buy gifts and necessities to send to the islands.

In addition, the people actively express their feelings through writing poems, essays, and short stories about their homeland. Overseas Vietnamese have also established Hoang Sa and Truong Sa Clubs in France, Singapore, South Korea, Poland, etc., and have increased research on new measures and inventions to improve the lives of officers and soldiers on the islands. They regularly organize seminars and exhibitions to affirm their love for the country, contributing to strongly promoting Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands to the overseas Vietnamese community and the international community.

The success of the "Great Unity Train" once again affirms the consistent policy of the Party and State to consider the overseas Vietnamese community as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc in the spirit of Conclusion 12-KL/TW, more clearly demonstrating the sentiments and responsibilities of the Party and State in caring for the overseas Vietnamese community.

The trip also contributed to affirming the sentiment, responsibility and contribution of overseas Vietnamese to the cause of national construction and development in general, as well as the cause of protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the fatherland in particular.
