Thanh Hoa Club sets unprecedented record in V-League history

V-League 2023 ended last night (August 27) with the championship title belonging to Hanoi Police Club. Hanoi FC and Viettel ranked second and third respectively. Thanh Hoa Club ranked fourth, did not win any medals but still had a special achievement that no other team has achieved.

The Thanh team is the only club in the 2023 V-League that is undefeated away from home. In the history of the V-League, no other team has ever gone through a season without losing a single match away from home.

Coach Velizar Popov and his team have played 9 away matches this season. They have 3 wins against Khanh Hoa Club, Binh Dinh Club and Hai Phong Club.

In the remaining 6 matches, Thanh Hoa Club was undefeated with their opponents. Bruno Cantanhede and his teammates scored 10 goals and only conceded 5. Coach Velizar Popov and his team won 15 points when playing away from home, equivalent to nearly 50% of the total points they achieved in V-League 2023.

Meanwhile, at home, Thanh Hoa Club played 11 matches but lost 5, won 5 and drew 1, earning 16 points.

Thanh Hoa FC is an interesting phenomenon in V-League 2023. Under the leadership of coach Velizar Popov, the Thanh team has an impressive and dedicated playing style. Quality foreign players also contributed significantly to Thanh Hoa FC's good results this season.

However, the team's strength is still weak and lacking compared to its competitors for the championship. Therefore, Thanh Hoa Club fell behind the top 3 teams in the final stage of the season.

At the end of the 2023 V-League season, Thanh Hoa Club will take a 10-day break before resuming training on September 7. The Thanh Hoa team will announce a series of new players to prepare for the new season.
