The Vietnamese women's volleyball team played a friendly match against Spain to familiarize themselves with the level of top-tier teams in the world. Conversely, Spain played against Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team to acclimatize to the weather and time zone in the Far East before heading to Thailand for the World Championships.
Their superior skill level, coupled with a physical advantage, allowed the Spanish girls to be more accurate in their attacks. The spikes from the European athletes posed significant challenges for the Vietnamese women's volleyball team's blockers.
Nevertheless, the Vietnamese athletes competed quite resiliently. We only lost by a small margin of 22-25 in the first set.
In the second set, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team made some adjustments, but still couldn't close the large gap in skill level. In the second set, we lost again with a score of 18-25.
In the third set, the Spanish women's volleyball team won again 25-20. Ultimately, they won 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, and 25-20) against the Vietnamese women's team.
At this year's World Championship, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will compete against Poland on August 23rd, Germany on August 25th, and Kenya on August 27th. Of these, Poland and Germany are representatives from Europe, while Kenya is from Africa.
