According to the announcement, students, teachers, and staff of educational institutions will have a 5-day Lunar New Year holiday. The holiday period includes one day before Tet and four days after Tet, from Monday, February 16, 2026 (29th day of the 12th lunar month) to Friday, February 20, 2026 (4th day of the 1st lunar month).
Therefore, including the four weekends before and after Tet, the Lunar New Year holiday for students will last 9 days.

For New Year's Day, Hanoi will give students one day off on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
The Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires its affiliated units to assign duty rosters and security personnel for offices and schools during the Tet holiday, and to submit these schedules to the Department before January 29, 2026.
Schools must strengthen propaganda and education among students to promote civilized behavior, maintain social order and safety, ensure traffic safety, and strictly comply with regulations on the management and use of fireworks during the Tet holiday.
