CLIP: Stunning model of watching "frog circus" for the first time in Can Tho

During the recent April 30 and May 1 holidays, Mr. Le Van Cang (48 years old; member of the Con Son Agricultural Tourism Cooperative) brought the experimental "frog circus" model to serve tourists. Many guests, especially children, were very excited about this new model.

"On Con Son, frogs are everywhere. Sometimes when I sit in my house, there are a few at my feet. They are familiar animals to the people here. On the other hand, Con Son has many typical tourism products such as flying snakehead fish and catfish that eat on land. That's why I came up with the idea of ​​training frogs to perform circus acts to enrich local tourism products," said Mr. Cang.

Since 2022, Mr. Cang and his family have visited many frog farms in the Mekong Delta to find suitable frogs for training. He has selected nearly 4,000 frogs, and after purchasing them, they are classified into: normal colored frogs (black cotton-patterned back skin) and unique colored frogs (yellow, green, etc.). With a large number of frogs, Mr. Cang has divided them into many breeding areas and developed them into 3 activities: performing unique colored frogs, frogs croaking to sounds, and frogs jumping through hoops (frog circus).

Having been trained since they were first bought, the frog "athletes" performed very "professionally" even though they were only 30 days old.

For the "frog circus" model, Mr. Cang trains the newly purchased frogs to move according to color, so they can jump through hoops at a height of 15-20 cm. "When I first bought the baby frogs, I trained them to jump through hoops by using colorful strings to stimulate them. Now the new frogs are more than 30 days old, the older they get, the more professional they will perform" - Mr. Cang said excitedly. This product is aimed at children and will be officially launched this summer.

An area for raising frogs with unique and strange colors

Having been to Con Son twice, when Mr. Bui Van Cong's family (living in Ho Chi Minh City) returned for the third time, they found this place very new. "Not only are there more delicious dishes, but there are also many unique tourism products. Every time my children travel to Can Tho , they ask to be taken to Con Son to see the flying snakehead fish performance. This time, we got to see the frog circus performance, which was extremely exciting. The family will definitely come back this summer," Mr. Cong said.

The water in the tank is changed regularly to avoid bad odors.

According to Mr. Cang, during the recent holiday, Con Son welcomed an average of 1,000-1,500 visitors per day. Training frogs to become "high jump athletes" is to create more attraction for tourists when they come here. In addition, it is also a joy for me as well as for tourists every time they have the opportunity to come to Con Son to enjoy the "frog circus".
