Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Chien introduced to the delegation the geographical location, natural and economic characteristics of Tay Ninh province; especially the work of attracting investment in the field of high-tech agriculture, ensuring disease safety, meeting export standards to a number of countries in the region and the world.

According to Mr. Tran Van Chien, the meeting is an opportunity for functional agencies and enterprises producing livestock and poultry products for export to exchange and learn about the Singapore market, and at the same time, find the best solutions to develop the export of animals and animal products of Tay Ninh sustainably.

"I hope that the contents discussed and shared in today's meeting will contribute to supporting and promoting the further development of Tay Ninh's livestock industry," emphasized Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Chien.

Reporting to the working delegation, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that currently, the livestock situation in the province is developing stably, with a total poultry herd of 9,900,000. The estimated total poultry meat output is 62,460 tons/year; egg output is 900 million eggs/year.

The province currently has two districts, Duong Minh Chau and Tan Chau, certified as disease-free zones (DFAs) for avian influenza and Newcastle disease in chickens; six communes in Go Dau district are certified as disease-free facilities for avian influenza and Newcastle disease in chickens. In addition, 49 chicken farms have been granted disease-free certificates.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development spoke at the working session with the delegation of the Singapore Food Authority.

It is expected that by December 2024, there will be 2 more district-level ATDB zones (Tan Bien, Go Dau) for avian influenza and Newcastle disease in chickens.

Disease prevention and control in livestock is of particular concern to livestock farmers and professional agencies, and is an activity that is carried out regularly and continuously. Notably, there has been no outbreak of avian influenza A/H5N1 in the province since 2016.

Provincial authorities regularly inspect veterinary hygiene conditions at veterinary medicine and animal feed businesses; control slaughter; vaccinate and disinfect to ensure food safety for livestock products.

At the meeting, Dr. Abdul Jalil Abdul Kader - Deputy General Director of SFA and members of the delegation raised a number of questions about disease prevention and control in livestock farming, measures to inspect and supervise livestock farming, production and processing of livestock products to ensure safety for consumers.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Chien presented gifts from the Provincial People's Committee to the working delegation of the Singapore Food Authority.

Also during the working session, the delegation of the Singapore Food Authority visited and learned about the system and production process of various products of the livestock and egg production farm of QL Vietnam Agroresources Company Limited in Thanh Xuan Hamlet, Mo Cong Commune, Tan Bien District.
