Good way

On time, we arrived at Vinh Hung 2 Primary School. Ms. Thuy was teaching in the classroom across the street. Welcoming us with a gentle smile, she said: “A colleague called and was busy with urgent work and could not come to school on time, so I helped. Even though I am a manager, I really love teaching, approaching and interacting with students. Teaching directly in class helps me grasp the students' learning ability, thereby promptly finding solutions to adjust.”

She invited us to experience a reading session at the school library. It was impressive to see the rural students so bold and confident in sharing the stories they had read. They discussed, asked questions and together summarized the lessons after the class.

Reading is included in Vinh Hung 2 Primary School as a core subject. In addition to having one reading period per week like other schools, the school has created a timetable to add two reading periods per month. During reading periods, students will stand in front of their friends to share stories and answer questions from their friends. With that interaction, the children become bolder and are no longer shy when standing in front of a crowd.

The main occupation of Vinh Hung people is mainly agriculture and fishing in Cau Hai lagoon. In the past 5 years, garment processing has developed in Vinh Hung. Many parents have to work during the afternoon, so they hope that the school will organize boarding to support parents to work more conveniently.

Knowing that boarding is necessary, but the school's facilities are not guaranteed, Ms. Thuy boldly called for social mobilization from parents and benefactors to build a dining room and kitchen with a budget of more than 100 million VND. Vinh Hung 2 Primary School became the first primary school in District 3 to organize boarding. In addition, Ms. Thuy continued to mobilize social mobilization to have more than 200 square meters of muddy ground concreted, creating a safer playground for students.

All for students

Once known as the youngest female principal in the district, Ms. Thuy is also loved by colleagues, students, trusted by parents and trusted by superiors. According to Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy, in order for parents to join hands with the school, trust must first be built. When making a plan, it must be clear, the ultimate goal is for the students. Thanks to doing that well, the school's socialization work in recent years has been very effective. On average, each year the school socializes more than 120 million VND to invest in facilities and improve the quality of education .

Thanks to these good practices, the school's educational quality has been improving, becoming a model school in Phu Loc. The facilities are increasingly spacious, creating a good educational environment. Therefore, last school year, Vinh Hung 2 Primary School received the emulation flag from the Provincial People's Committee.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thuy shared that being born and raised in a difficult land like Vinh Hung, she felt the hardships of parents of students, as well as her own parents in the past. Therefore, doing things from the heart, seeing colleagues as relatives; students as children and parents as family... will be done.
