VITTO Hue Company Limited's grassroots union gives gifts to union members and workers

Proactive basis

Putting aside the hustle and bustle of production, the bright smiles of Son Ha Hue Company Limited employees (Phu Da Industrial Park) during a recent picnic in Bach Ma are proof of the thoughtful care of the trade union organization. With the theme "Connecting strength, connecting success", the program not only helps employees relax and recharge with many exciting collective activities but also arouses the spirit of solidarity and attachment among all staff and workers. Ms. Lai Thi Tay Phuong, Chairwoman of Son Ha Hue Company Limited Union shared: "We always try to make the union not only a place to protect rights, but also a place to spread solidarity and humanity in the collective".

At HBI Vietnam Hue Company, the grassroots union also regularly maintained many activities in the first 6 months of the year. Notable programs are those associated with Workers' Month such as giving away uniforms and organizing competitions to create recreational playgrounds for workers.

The union also gave gifts to union members whose children achieved academic success, supported textbooks, and proposed timely support for union members in difficulty to the authorities. Many outstanding collectives and individuals were proposed for awards by the union, contributing to motivating the emulation movement at the enterprise. “I just received a new uniform from the company union and received support to buy textbooks for my children. The timely and appropriate support is very valuable,” said Nguyen Van Duc, a warehouse worker.

Playing a good role as a bridge, the Trade Union of Hao Hung Hue Company Limited has coordinated with employers to improve working conditions and ensure production safety for union members and employees. Some initiatives proposed by the Trade Union and effectively applied by the Company include: Installing barriers at dangerous locations to limit work accidents; adding intermediate conveyor belts to prevent spilled materials from damaging equipment; building separate parking areas for pregnant female employees, etc.

In addition, the union coordinates with employers to provide adequate labor protection equipment, monitor the use process, and propose monitoring the working environment from installing additional lighting to repairing damaged fans to ensure a safe working environment for employees.

“We prioritize activities that are encouraging and related to specific lives so that employees can clearly feel the role of the union,” said Ms. Le Thi Yen Ly, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Hao Hung Hue Company Limited.

No interruption

Recently, a working delegation of the Hue City Labor Federation led by Mr. Le Minh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, Chairman of the City Labor Federation, had working sessions at many grassroots unions, including units with a large number of workers such as Billion Max Vietnam Export Processing Co., Ltd., Kim Long Motors Hue Joint Stock Company, SCavi Hue Co., Ltd.

The working sessions promptly grasp the reality of life, work, and thoughts of union members and workers. The working sessions not only demonstrate the spirit of solidarity and sharing of the union organization with the grassroots, but are also an opportunity to promptly resolve difficulties, strengthen trust, and affirm the role of representing and caring for workers.

From developing union members, building grassroots democracy regulations to ensuring salary, insurance, and welfare regimes, trade union activities in enterprises are increasingly in-depth and substantial. Higher-level trade unions also increase support, provide professional guidance, and organize training, contributing to improving the capacity of trade union officials, especially in the context of many changes in organization, location, and management model.

According to Mr. Le Minh Nhan, immediately after merging into the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, the City Labor Federation quickly stabilized the apparatus, clearly assigned people, tasks, and responsibilities, and linked each position to the results of the task. There was no gap in direction and management, and the union staff was activated to work from the very beginning according to the motto that despite the reduced apparatus, the work of caring for the lives and protecting the rights of workers was not only not interrupted but also promoted and put into practice more effectively to better fulfill the role of being the support for workers.
