Chelsea's number one star, the winner of the Premier League Young Player of the Year award, has gone 17 consecutive games, equivalent to 1,382 minutes, without scoring a goal.
Against Everton's defense, the English midfielder did not have a single shot. However, Nicolas Jackson was able to speak up to bring a minimal victory for Chelsea, at the same time helping the West London team extend their unbeaten streak at home in the Premier League to 30 matches.
More importantly, Chelsea temporarily rose to 4th place on the rankings with 60 points, above Nottingham thanks to a better goal difference (+19 compared to +14).

The match started with the home team dominating. However, Everton also showed their discomfort with solid defense and sharp counter-attacks.
Noni Madueke had a chance to open the scoring for Chelsea after a clever run past Nathan Patterson, but his shot was saved by Jordan Pickford. Another incident saw Marc Cucurella send the ball wide after a hasty finish.
Chelsea's pressure finally paid off in the 28th minute when Enzo Fernandez set up Nicolas Jackson to fire a precise shot into the bottom corner, Jackson's first Premier League goal since December 2024.
The second half saw Everton fight back in search of an equaliser. Beto and Idrissa Gueye both had decent chances, but Robert Sanchez was excellent to keep the net clean. On the other side, Madueke continued to inspire Chelsea, forcing Pickford to make a series of saves.
Although Jackson had another goal ruled out for offside late on, that could not prevent Chelsea from claiming a valuable victory.
