(Dan Tri) - Vu Tan Dat - son of singer Trong Tan - said that although his father is a famous revolutionary music artist, he is not pressured and always finds his own path, so as not to be said to be "relying on his father".

Trong Tan is a prominent singer in the Vietnamese red music scene. In addition to his successful career, he also has a happy family.

In particular, Trong Tan has two talented children, both of whom are musically gifted, of which his son Vu Tan Dat is receiving a lot of attention. The clips of him singing with his son posted by Trong Tan have millions of views on social networks.

Tan Dat was born in 2004, has a handsome appearance, fair skin, a high nose bridge and a youthful style. Born into an artistic family, he initially did not study vocal music but studied Jazz Drums at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. In his third year, Trong Tan accidentally discovered that his son had a talent for singing and tried to let him practice his voice.

Soon after, Tan Dat transferred to the intermediate level of Vocal Music at the same academy, entering a systematic training process under the direct guidance of his father. According to Trong Tan, although he had only studied for less than a year, Tan Dat had already shown his mettle, confidence and artistic qualities.

In 2021, in the program Con duong am nhac , Trong Tan brought his son to the big stage for the first time. The performance of the song " Coat mua dong" (Winter Coat ) by father and son left an impression on the audience.

Recently, Tan Dat attracted attention when he entered the semi-finals of Hanoi Singing Contest 2025. Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Tan Dat said that at first he intended to compete in light music but then switched to chamber music, which suited his style.

The young singer chose the song Dakrong River in Spring - the song associated with his father's name.

"When my parents knew I was going to the singing competition, they were very supportive and invested. My father said this is a quality competition, many young artists in Hanoi and across the country have become famous, so it will be an opportunity for me to gain experience in the profession," Tan Dat said.

Young Tan Dat shared more, singer Trong Tan is a thoughtful person, always encouraging his children in life: "Dad is usually very gentle, never "gets on his nerves" so we really respect him.

Many people think my dad is difficult, but he's not, he's very easy-going. I'm not pressured when my dad becomes famous, I will try to strive to have my own place, so as not to be called Trong Tan's son," Tan Dat confided.

In the semi-finals, recently Tan Dat and the contestants of Hanoi Singing 2025 experienced culture on the Hanoi 5 Cua O train, enjoying quan ho, ca tru, cheo singing, xam singing and traditional crafts at Do Temple ( Bac Ninh ).

Tan Dat said that no matter the result of the competition, he was happy because he had tried his best. After each performance, he felt more mature and confident on stage.
