The CISAC report analyzed data from 228 collective management organizations of copyright in 111 countries and territories. Accordingly, total global copyright revenue in 2024 reached 13.97 billion euros, up 6.6%, in which revenue from digital copyright continued to lead the growth trend.

Vietnam makes a strong breakthrough in the digital age

Despite being in the process of digital transformation, Vietnam recorded a growth rate of digital revenue of up to 15.7%, showing that the online copyright market is expanding. Notably, the proportion of digital accounts for 86.6% of total revenue, among the highest in Asia - Pacific , reflecting a strong shift to the digital environment.

This result shows the great effort of the Vietnam Center for Music Copyright Protection (VCPMC) - the collective management organization of music copyright in Vietnam, a member of CISAC for the past 23 years. VCPMC is highly appreciated by CISAC thanks to its operating model similar to prestigious organizations such as SACEM (France), JASRAC (Japan), GEMA (Germany) or APRA AMCOS (Australia).

CISAC's Global Copyright Revenue Report 2025 also provides a ranking of global copyright revenue, and Vietnam ranks 47th out of 50 markets with the highest music copyright revenue, with a total revenue of 14 million euros (420 billion VND) and a growth rate of 12.7% compared to 2024, a remarkable increase for a developing market, especially when digital music revenue accounts for 86.6%.

In addition to expanding international cooperation, VCPMC has signed and exchanged copyrights with many CISAC members, helping Vietnamese works to collect royalties in many countries and vice versa. The unit also participates in training and data sharing with the ASEAN Caucus group, and is considered one of the most dynamic CMOs in Southeast Asia.

As of November 18, 2025, VCPMC has accepted 734 new authors, bringing the total number of members to 7,072. In the third quarter of 2025 alone, VCPMC paid 108.19 billion VND in royalties to authors and copyright owners.

VCPMC applies digital transformation, collects over 230 billion VND in royalties in 2022. VCPMC General Director Dinh Trung Can sets a target of collecting over 230 billion VND in royalties in 2022, reaching the target of earning 10 million USD a year.
