Lieutenant Colonel Ho Minh Tung, Deputy Head of Phu Giao District Police, said that in the first quarter of 2023, closely following the direction of the Provincial Police Director, the District Party Committee, and the District People's Committee, the District Police proactively and effectively implemented plans, solutions, and measures to ensure security and order. "In the first quarter of 2023, Phu Giao District Police discovered 6 cases, arrested 12 subjects for storing and organizing illegal use of drugs; seized over 11 grams of various types of drugs, and made records to send 7 subjects to compulsory drug rehabilitation at drug rehabilitation facilities," said Lieutenant Colonel Tung.
A typical case is the case of Nguyen Duoc (born in 1992, residing in An Binh commune, Phu Giao district) who was arrested for organizing illegal use of drugs. Through understanding the local situation, the Economic - Drug Police Team, Phu Giao district police caught Duoc red-handed organizing 4 other subjects to illegally use drugs in the staff accommodation area of a karaoke bar in Ward 9, Phuoc Vinh town, Phu Giao district. At the time of the inspection, the police force seized 1 nylon bag containing crystal meth, a set of drug use tools and many weapons such as: guns, bullets, electric batons, pepper spray...
Captain Nguyen Hoang Son, Deputy Head of the Economic - Drug Police Team, Phu Giao District Police, said that recently, the district has also seen a rise in the number of subjects operating "black credit". Through investigation, Phu Giao District Police prosecuted and temporarily detained Le Thi Ngát (born in 1977, residing in Phuoc Vinh town, Phu Giao district) to investigate and clarify the act of lending money at high interest rates in civil transactions. According to the investigation, from March 2021, the defendant Ngát lent Ms. S. 3 billion VND in the form of borrowing money without collateral at an interest rate of 292%/year, illegally profiting more than 100 million VND. Recently, the Investigation Police Agency of Phu Giao District Police also prosecuted and temporarily detained the subject Bo Nhu Phong (born in 1983, residing in Ben Cat town) for the acts of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and "Forgery, use of fake documents of agencies and organizations".
According to the investigation, Phong did not have a stable job or residence. Phong introduced himself as a "broker" specializing in paperwork and knew many officials, so he could easily and quickly complete legal procedures related to land. However, after receiving money from the victims, Phong cut off contact and appropriated billions of dong. Searching Phong's residence, the police seized many exhibits of fake documents that Phong used to commit fraud and appropriate property. "In the coming time, Phu Giao District Police will strengthen propaganda work, launch a movement for the whole people to protect national security among the masses; mobilize people to actively denounce criminals. The police force will resolutely and strictly handle violations of the law," added Lieutenant Colonel Ho Minh Tung, Deputy Head of Phu Giao District Police.
Through the synchronous implementation of professional measures and effective attacks on all types of crimes, in the first quarter of 2023, in Phu Giao district, there were 32 criminal cases of social order (compared to the same period, 2 cases less), 31 cases were investigated and clarified (reaching 96.9%), 65 subjects were arrested and prosecuted. This result is the result of the efforts and determination of the officers and soldiers of Phu Giao district police.
