On June 11, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to announce the Green Tourism Standards of Khanh Hoa Province. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Dinh Van Thieu - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; leaders of the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, representatives of VinUni University (consulting unit) and representatives of many businesses in the province.

The Green Tourism Standards of Khanh Hoa province includes two separate sets of standards for two main groups of subjects: Tourist accommodation establishments and tourist attractions. In particular, the Green Tourism Standards for tourist accommodation establishments include the following groups of criteria: Greenhouse gas emission criteria (18 criteria); Green action criteria (including 84 criteria, divided into 4 main topics: sustainable development management team, environment, society, customers and employees). The Green Tourism Standards for tourist attractions include the following groups of criteria: Greenhouse gas emission criteria (10 criteria); Green action criteria (including 90 criteria, divided into 6 main topics: sustainable development management team, environment, society, customers and employees, green transportation, conservation of cultural and natural resources). In addition to the Green Tourism Standards for accommodation establishments and tourist attractions, the Green Tourism Standards for Khanh Hoa province also developed a Handbook for implementing green tourism, software (application) for managing and evaluating green tourism standards.
The green tourism standards are implemented on a voluntary basis, encouraging businesses to proactively participate. Through the software provided by the Evaluation Council, units will conduct a self-assessment of their activities based on the questionnaire corresponding to the criteria of the standards. Businesses need to answer questions and provide appropriate evidence to demonstrate the level of compliance with each indicator and criterion. The Evaluation Council will base on the self-assessment results, check the evidence to propose the Provincial People's Committee to issue a green tourism standard certificate (valid for 3 years) at 3 levels: Basic, Advanced, Excellent.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Van Thieu said that the announcement ceremony of the Green Tourism Standards Set in Khanh Hoa Province is an important milestone in the process of developing tourism in a sustainable, environmentally friendly and community-friendly direction. This is the result of the collaborative efforts between local authorities, the business community, and experts and is a clear demonstration of the determination to transform the tourism growth model in line with global trends. The issuance of the Green Tourism Standards Set helps tourism businesses review green transformation and sustainable development activities; set specific standards to help tourism businesses improve service quality and visitor experience. Standards on safety, hygiene and waste management will be widely applied, ensuring that tourism establishments meet service quality requirements while protecting the health and safety of visitors. This helps improve the image of tourism businesses, contributing to building Khanh Hoa province into a sustainable and attractive tourist destination. The province is committed to providing strong direction, creating favorable mechanisms and accompanying the business community in the process of applying and replicating the Green Tourism Standards.
