Many creative ideas honored at Vietnam Innovation Challenge program

This afternoon (March 18), the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the National Innovation Center (NIC) in collaboration with Meta Group announced the program "Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024".

Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Duy Dong said: “The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 is closely aligned with the context of the semiconductor industry playing an increasingly important role in global economic competition, the strong development of artificial intelligence, and the Vietnamese Government's strategy for developing high-tech industries. The program not only demonstrates the vision and great support of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in promoting these two potential fields, but also contributes to realizing the strategic goals set by the Government.”

Mr. Rafael Frankel - Director of Public Policy for Southeast Asia, Meta Group also said: “With the “Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024”, we want to create an intellectual playground to promote ideas and take advantage of opportunities in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry. This initiative will contribute to enhancing the integration of Vietnam's technology sector in the global digital economy”.

This year's program takes place with two main themes: Searching for and honoring solutions to improve the quality of design, packaging, and testing stages in the semiconductor industry value chain, with priority given to applications serving the field of artificial intelligence;

Search and honor solutions applying artificial intelligence technology to serve business building and development, increasing work productivity.

The program aims to promote cooperative thinking, attract resources, and build a multilateral cooperation platform to establish a launching pad for Vietnamese enterprises to increase value and enhance their position in the global value chain.

Through finding and honoring solutions, the program will contribute to the common goal of spreading awareness about the importance and value of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, recommending and connecting Vietnamese businesses with solutions to upgrade and improve business operations, improve performance, develop new products and services, and increase the competitive advantage of Vietnamese businesses in the world market.

In terms of structure, the 2024 Program includes 3 groups:

Large Innovative Enterprises: Large innovative enterprises with integrated, market-proven solutions ready for large-scale deployment

Innovative SMEs Group: Innovative small and medium enterprises that have practical products and services on semiconductor technology and artificial intelligence, have been deployed in the market and have revenue.

Group of innovative startups: Innovative projects and startups have ideas; proposals; new approaches to support small and medium enterprises to participate in the common value chain of the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry. Schools/Institutes that train and research, have been operating in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence industry.

The Vietnam Innovation Challenge 2024 will last until October 2024. Individuals and units with excellent solutions selected will have the opportunity to introduce solutions and cooperate with corporations; receive investment commitments from investment funds and leading domestic and international corporations; be connected and join the ecosystem of NIC and Meta with support packages, capacity building, trade promotion opportunities, and many other awards.
