Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Viet Phuong chaired the conference at the Tuyen Quang province bridge.
At the conference, leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced Decision No. 509/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2024 of the Prime Minister on approving the Tourism System Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045.
Accordingly, the general goal by 2025 is for Vietnam to become an attractive destination with high tourism development capacity in the world. By 2030, tourism will truly become a spearhead economic sector, developing towards green growth; becoming a destination with leading development capacity in the world.
Some specific goals set out are that by 2025, the tourism industry strives to welcome 25 - 28 million international visitors; 130 million domestic visitors, maintaining a domestic visitor growth rate of 8 - 9%/year, the tourism industry directly contributing 8 - 9% of the country's GDP.
By 2030, welcome 35 million international visitors, with a growth rate of 13 - 15%/year; welcome 160 million domestic visitors, with a growth rate of 4 - 5%/year, directly contributing 13 - 14% to GDP.
The plan also clearly defines the direction of tourism market development, tourism product development orientation in each period from now to 2030, and tourism development investment orientation.
Vietnam's tourism space organization plan includes: 6 regions, 3 growth poles, 8 dynamic areas, 5 main tourism corridors, 11 tourism centers; forming a system of national tourist areas and potential locations to develop into national tourist areas.
The plan also clearly states the organization and development of the tourism business system, development of tourism human resources, and priority investment project lists.
The conference also announced Decision No. 991/QD-TTg dated September 16, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the Planning of the cultural and sports facilities network for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2045.
It clearly states the direction for developing the national network of physical training and sports facilities and developing the national network of cultural facilities including 12 subjects: Museum network, library network, cinema network, performing arts network, cultural and art exhibition network, cultural center network in the country, Vietnamese cultural centers abroad, research and training facilities specializing in culture and art, Vietnam Ethnic Culture and Tourism Village, cultural data digitization facility.
The general goal is to develop a synchronous, modern, and unique national cultural infrastructure network, aiming to build a national image associated with absorbing the cultural quintessence of the times, meeting prescribed standards and practical needs, ensuring fairness in participation and enjoyment of people in regions and areas throughout the country, ensuring good performance of the task of preserving and promoting national cultural values and identities, ensuring regional connectivity and connectivity with other infrastructures within the territory.

The conference also acknowledged the contributions of delegates from localities on solutions to implement the planning, from which the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will issue specific plans to implement these two plans. The plans are important policies for localities to use as a basis to attract investment resources to develop culture, sports and tourism in each locality.
