Quang Tri Trade Union innovates and creates for workers in the new situation

Over 96 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has always accompanied the Party's revolutionary cause, is the core force in the workers' movement, and has made great contributions to the cause of national liberation, construction and defense of the Fatherland. Inheriting that tradition, the Quang Tri Provincial General Confederation of Labor has constantly innovated its organization, improved its operational efficiency, and affirmed its role as a solid support for union members and workers.

After restructuring the organizational structure, implementing appropriate personnel policies and merging the two provinces, the entire Quang Tri province now has 723 grassroots unions, with more than 43,200 union members. Over the years, Quang Tri trade unions at all levels have always closely followed the policies and resolutions of the Party and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), focusing on better caring for the material and spiritual lives of workers.

Trade union organizations and generations of union cadres and members always inherit and promote the good traditions and achievements of the workers, civil servants, and laborers (CNVCLĐ) movement and trade union activities over the years, performing well the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.

Trade unions at all levels in the province have launched and implemented many emulation movements, new programs, organized many activities aimed at the grassroots, union members and workers with rich and diverse content and forms, bringing practical results.

Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen The Lap shared: “Maintaining and promoting the achievements, in the past time, although there were many difficulties and challenges, under the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the close coordination of the government, departments, branches, and organizations in the province, the efforts, striving, dynamism, and creativity of the staff, Party members, and laborers, the labor movement and trade union activities of Quang Tri have contributed significantly to the successful implementation of the province's socio -economic goals, building an increasingly strong working class and trade union organization”.

“Proud of the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Trade Union over the past 96 years, each cadre and member of the Quang Tri Trade Union realizes the great responsibility and constantly strives, is dynamic, and unites to build an increasingly strong trade union organization, a working class that matures in all aspects, and meets the requirements of tasks in the new situation,” emphasized Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen The Lap.

With the motto "Focusing on the grassroots, all for the union members and workers", Quang Tri Trade Union has focused on comprehensive innovation in the content and methods of operation. One of the outstanding achievements is focusing on performing well the role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers. Trade unions at all levels have mobilized many resources to care for, support, share, and encourage union members and workers with especially difficult circumstances in life, especially during the Lunar New Year every year.

The programs "Tet Sum Vay", "Trade Union Market", "Trade Union Meal", and "Worker's Month" activities are organized in many diverse, practical, and effective forms, demonstrating the profound humanity of the trade union organization towards workers, becoming bright spots in the activities of trade unions at all levels.

The housing program "Union shelter", welfare works serving union members and workers in remote areas and the settlement of loans from the "Poor Union Members" Fund continue to be implemented regularly and effectively, contributing to helping union members and workers overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and feel secure at work.

Thereby, creating trust of union members and employees in the trade union organization in the whole province. The work of developing union members and building strong trade union organizations is also always focused on. In 2024-2025, the whole province has newly established many grassroots trade unions in non-state enterprises, affirming the role of trade unions in the context of integration and development.

Emulation movements were launched and implemented strongly, consistently, extensively, and evenly across all socio-economic sectors of the province by trade unions at all levels, attracting a large number of union members and employees to participate and bringing about clear results.

The spread of emulation movements has become an important driving force to effectively perform the functions and tasks of trade union organizations, contributing together with the Party Committee, government and the entire political system to successfully implement the goals and tasks of socio-economic development, stabilizing political security and social order and safety of the locality.

In order to innovate emulation and reward work, the Provincial Federation of Labor and trade unions at all levels always pay attention to new factors, collectives and individuals with topics and initiatives applied in practice, and pay attention to direct production units and exemplary work to create a vibrant and widespread emulation atmosphere in all fields, professions and subjects.

With its effective activities in the new context, Quang Tri Trade Union has performed well its core function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, increasingly affirming its position and prestige in the political system, making important contributions to the process of building and developing the homeland.

The current trend of integration and development is opening up many new opportunities and advantages for trade union organizations to develop, but also intertwined with many difficulties and challenges. That is the increasingly high demand of trade union activities and the demands of union members and employees. Labor relations will change in a more complex direction, the need for housing, nurseries, kindergartens, and cultural institutions for union members and employees is still an urgent issue, posing many challenges for trade union organizations in the new context.

Faced with that situation, Quang Tri Trade Union must strongly innovate its content and methods of operation through practical, effective, grassroots-oriented emulation movements; take care of building and consolidating the organization, developing union members, innovating personnel work, and administrative reform; improve the effectiveness of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees; build harmonious, stable and progressive relationships in enterprises, in order to well perform its roles, functions and tasks in the new situation.

The 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union is an opportunity for every cadre, union member and employee in the whole province to proudly look back on the past historical journey, strengthen their faith, promote revolutionary traditions, and continue to contribute their intelligence and efforts for the sustainable development of Quang Tri province and the country.

To meet the increasingly high demands of the market economy as the country enters a new stage of development, especially the strict requirements when implementing regulations on labor and labor organization, the Provincial Federation of Labor and all levels of trade unions will continue to make efforts and determination to overcome difficulties and limitations, constantly innovate content, improve quality and efficiency of operations, arouse and strongly promote the thinking ability, creativity, and dedication of cadres, union members, and laborers in the province.

Quang Tri Trade Union also hopes to continue receiving the attention and leadership of Party committees at all levels, the direction of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the coordination of the government, departments, branches, and organizations to successfully fulfill the mission of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers; gathering, uniting, and educating workers and laborers to strive for the socialist ideal, for the prosperity of the homeland and country.
