People's foreign affairs work in Pu Nhi commune

Recognizing the importance of people's foreign affairs in the border area, Pu Nhi commune regularly coordinates with departments, agencies, and units of Muong Lat district and Pu Nhi Border Guard Station to grasp the border and inland situation. At the same time, propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and the memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Pu Nhi commune and Pieng Khay and Pieng Can villages to all classes of people. Mobilize the masses to strictly comply with treaties, agreements, and border regulations signed by the two countries; raise vigilance, do not listen to bad guys who incite people to cross the border, illegally exploit timber, and illegally transport prohibited goods across the border.

In addition, the commune proactively fights to defeat all plots of hostile forces, acts of propaganda, distortion causing internal disunity, carrying out tricks to violate the agreement, building illegal works in the border area. At the same time, strictly implement the coordination regulations between forces in patrolling, managing, protecting the border and border markers; promote the sense of responsibility, the effectiveness of the self-governing team to protect the border and border markers; propagate and mobilize people to fight to protect the current status of the border, the system of national border markers and border signs, and border security sovereignty .

Thanks to effective propaganda work, people living in Com and Pu Ngua villages along the Vietnam - Laos border have raised their awareness of participating in protecting national territorial sovereignty. Party cell secretary and head of Pu Ngua village Thao Van Sinh said: "The village has more than 14km of border adjacent to Pieng Khay and Pieng Can villages. In recent years, implementing the border regulations signed by both sides, the people on both sides of the border have become closer. During holidays and Tet, both sides take turns visiting relatives and sharing joy with each other. People on both sides of the border participate in managing and protecting the border and border markers and commit not to encroach on or destroy forests for farming, to guard against forest fires, to clear firebreaks, and to protect forests. Along with that, people in the village are regularly informed by Pu Nhi Border Guard Station and other functional forces and commune officials about the border agreements, regulations, legal documents, and cooperation agreements between Vietnam and Laos, Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan provinces, Muong Lat and Vieng Xay districts, Pu Nhi commune and Pieng Khay and Pieng Can villages. Thanks to that, the people of both sides have become aware and responsible for participating in protecting the border, national landmarks, preserving national defense and security works; actively participating with the border guard force in patrolling and protecting the border, promptly detecting acts of violating territorial sovereignty, environmental resources, illegal entry and exit, and changes in border signs and landmarks.

Major Bui Xuan Ngai, Political Commissar of Pu Nhi Border Post, said: The unit regularly advises the Party Committee and the People's Committee of Pu Nhi commune to promote diplomatic activities, people's diplomacy and maintain the regime of talks, information exchange, and coordination to solve issues related to both sides of the border according to the border agreements and regulations. Thereby, contributing to building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border. In particular, the unit has advised the Party Committee, the People's Committee of the commune and signed memorandums of understanding with Pieng Can and Pieng Khay villages. Through the signed memorandums, the solidarity between the people on both sides of the border is constantly strengthened.

In the coming time, Pu Nhi commune will continue to propagate the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and issues related to sovereignty, peaceful borders, and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, the two provinces of Thanh Hoa - Hua Phan, the two districts of Muong Lat - Vieng Xay, Pu Nhi commune with Pieng Khay and Pieng Can villages to the people. Thereby contributing to creating favorable conditions for socio-economic development, trade of goods, tourism, and improving the lives of people on both sides of the border.
