On March 6, the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) said that the working group of the Traffic Police Department, Ninh Binh Provincial Police, together with local people, pursued a man who had just been released from prison and continued to recklessly rob motorbikes.
Previously, at around 6:30 a.m. the same day, the Working Group of the Traffic Police Department, Ninh Binh Provincial Police, performed patrol and control duties to ensure traffic safety on Tran Nhan Tong Street (Ninh Phong Ward, Ninh Binh City).
The task force discovered a young man speeding on a motorbike, with some people chasing him from behind, shouting “robbery…robbery…”. Realizing that the incident had signs of a crime, the task force quickly drove their vehicles and people to chase him.
The Traffic Police Task Force of Ninh Binh City Police chased and arrested the robber and the evidence.
When arriving at the dike in the Viet - Nhat Port area in Bich Dao ward (Ninh Binh city), the suspect fell and was restrained and arrested by the Working Group, who also temporarily detained the motorbike with license plate 35H1 - 1381.
At the police station, the robber said his name was Nguyen Trung Hieu (born in 1985, in Bac Giang city, Bac Giang province). Hieu said he had just robbed the motorbike from a female student on her way to school.
After robbing the property, Hieu ran away but was discovered by the police and the people, chased and arrested. Hieu also confessed that he had just been released from prison for about 10 days.
The working group of the Traffic Police Department, Ninh Binh Provincial Police handed over the motorbike robber to Ninh Binh City Police for handling.
