Department of Disease Prevention (Ministry of Health): Guidelines for ensuring adequate supply of ARV drugs to treat HIV for localities

On October 3, the Department of Disease Prevention (Ministry of Health) organized a nationwide online training course to guide the provision of adequate ARV drugs for HIV treatment in provinces and cities for 2026 and the following years.

At the program, the Department of Disease Prevention updated the current situation of ARV drug supply nationwide; drug supply plan for the period 2026 - 2027 and the current situation of ARV drug procurement and bidding in localities; list of ARV drugs subject to effective national centralized bidding; guidance on developing ARV drug supply plans, treatment plans and list of ARV drugs used in medical facilities in 2026; division of the list of ARV drugs purchased by price negotiation, aid drugs, etc.

Localities also shared experiences in developing and implementing plans for bidding to purchase ARV drugs; exchanged and discussed with the Department of Disease Prevention about difficulties and problems related to planning and implementing drug procurement bidding...

2026 is the first year that local health facilities will be able to purchase ARV drugs themselves. Therefore, the training session aims to help localities better implement the bidding process in the supply, management and treatment of ARV drugs; and enhance coordination between relevant units to ensure adequate supply of drugs for patients during treatment.
