Da Nang invests heavily in culture and education

Another project that is preparing for investment is the multi-purpose Cultural and Sports Center project combining performance to serve workers, students and pupils in the western part of the city in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward (Lien Chieu District) with a total investment of more than 87 billion VND.

Da Nang City People's Committee said that the western area of the city, including Lien Chieu District and 4 northern communes of Hoa Vang District (Hoa Lien, Hoa Bac, Hoa Son and Hoa Ninh), is a large area, located far from the city center.

The park area west of Thoai Ngoc Hau temple is about to be formed and will become an attractive tourist destination.

Therefore, investing in a multi-purpose cultural and sports center to serve the cultural and entertainment needs of people, workers, students in the western part of the city is in line with the development planning and is necessary in the current period.

According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, in the field of preserving and promoting relics, the city is currently focusing on ensuring the progress of major projects, such as: restoration and embellishment of Dien Hai Citadel relic (phase 2); project to preserve, restore and renovate Hoa Vang cemetery relic; Cham Sculpture Museum project (facility 2); Hai Van Quan national relic.

Along with that, recently, the City People's Council also approved the policy of implementing the project of the park area west of Thoai Ngoc Hau temple (in An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District) with a total investment of nearly 71 billion VND to bring the area around this relic out of the state of slovenliness and pollution...

Recently, the Da Nang City People's Committee has approved the investment policy to restore and embellish the national relic site of Mother Nhu and the seven Thanh Khe warriors with a total investment of more than 1.7 billion VND.

2023 is a year of good news for the education sector of Da Nang City when the city's leaders have determined to reserve many "golden lands" located in many prime locations of the city to build schools.

The first location to mention is the "golden land" area of over 7,400 m² at 271 Nguyen Tri Phuong, transferred by the Ministry of National Defense to Da Nang City to build Hoa Thuan Dong Primary - Secondary School and expand alley 149 Le Dinh Ly (Hai Chau District). With a total investment of over 135 billion VND, the new school construction project will include items such as: classroom blocks, principal office, subject classrooms with a scale of 4 floors with 4 blocks of works and swimming pool works, auxiliary buildings.

At the end of October, the People's Committee of Da Nang City decided to approve the investment project to build Le Kim Lang Primary School (phase 2; in Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, land area of over 11,000 m²). The project has a total investment of over 29 billion VND, from the city budget; investment in the construction of Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School (classrooms and subject rooms) with a total investment of over 44 billion VND.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang City also approved the investment project to build schools on the land after relocating the Da Nang Plastic Factory at 371 Tran Cao Van (Xuan Ha Ward, Thanh Khe District) to invest more than 97 billion VND to build new facilities for Hai Duong Kindergarten and Le Thi Hong Gam Secondary School to replace the existing facilities that are degraded and damaged...

Lien Chieu District People's Committee added that it is reviewing and proposing the City to reclaim some land plots in the area that have expired lease terms, such as: 27 Hoang Van Thai, 75 Nguyen Luong Bang to plan for investment in building schools.

In Hai Chau District, the land at 88 Thanh Son was also reclaimed to prepare for investment in building a kindergarten and other public works.

Nguyen Van Cu Secondary School was invested 44 billion VND to build many classrooms.

In addition to paying attention to infrastructure construction, the People's Committee of Da Nang City also spends a lot of budget on purchasing equipment for schools in the area. At the end of October, the People's Committee of Da Nang City decided to invest in purchasing equipment for primary and secondary schools in Hai Chau District (nearly 15 billion VND); Lien Chieu District (over 10 billion VND); Ngu Hanh Son District (nearly 6.5 billion VND); Cam Le District (over 9 billion VND)...

In addition, according to the report of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, as of October 2023, a number of projects with large capital plans are being researched and implemented, such as: Da Nang College of Culture and Arts (capital plan of 40 billion VND); renovation and upgrading of Ngo May Primary School (capital plan of 26 billion VND).

The Da Nang City government is determined to devote resources to investing in education.
