Da Nang promotes the development of social housing, creating more residential opportunities for workers.

(Chinhphu.vn) - Faced with the increasing demand for social housing, especially from workers and low-income laborers, Da Nang City is simultaneously implementing many new projects to increase supply and create more suitable housing options for people.

Since the beginning of 2025, in Da Nang, a series of social housing projects have been licensed for sale. In Bau Tram Lakeside Urban Area, the social housing apartment project on lot B4-2 has provided the market with 305 apartments with prices ranging from over 728 million VND to over 1.14 billion VND/apartment, suitable for the financial capacity of many young households.

In An Hai ward, An Trung 2 project continues to open for sale 633 apartments with a unit price of about 16.2 million VND/m2. The social housing apartment complex in Hoa Khanh Industrial Park alone is expected to provide nearly 2,000 apartments in 8 blocks, with prices ranging from 16.4 to 30.9 million VND/m2, opening up opportunities to own or rent stable housing near the workplace for thousands of workers.

According to the Department of Construction of Da Nang, in 2025 alone, the City aims to complete 4 projects with 1,807 apartments; start 4 new projects with 4,254 apartments. At the same time, a project using public investment capital with 191 apartments is also in the process of investment preparation. In parallel, the City has approved the policy of calling for investment in 5 projects with a scale of 3,487 apartments and requested the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to continue implementing the project of about 500 apartments reserved for workers to rent.

Thus, a total of 15 projects with more than 10,200 social housing units will be implemented in 2025, equivalent to 109.5% of the target for the 2025 - 2030 period and 120.5% of the 2025 plan. This is a strong step forward affirming the determination to build Da Nang into a livable city not only in name but also from every roof of the people.

Not only stopping at increasing supply, Da Nang also implemented many preferential loan programs to support people to access social housing more easily. The City Social Policy Bank branch is implementing a credit program that lends up to 80% of the value of the contract to buy or rent social housing, with an interest rate of only 6.6%/year, loan term up to 25 years. Since the beginning of the year, the bank has disbursed 281 billion VND to 1,108 customers, bringing the total outstanding balance of the program to 1,612 billion VND with 4,563 borrowers.

The relevant agencies have strengthened the review, inspection and supervision of the approval and allocation process of social housing to prevent policy abuse and ensure that housing funds are allocated to the right beneficiaries.

In addition to new projects, Da Nang also allocates resources to renovate degraded housing areas. On October 13, the City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1962 approving the investment policy for a social housing project to replace the Hoa Minh Apartment Complex, which has been in use for more than 20 years and is seriously degraded. The project has a scale of 933 apartments, with a total capital of more than VND 1,317 billion, implemented on a land area of ​​more than 7,700 m2 on Tran Anh Tong Street (Thanh Khe Ward).

Previously, on September 11, the Management Board of Quang Nam Economic Zones and Industrial Parks (under the People's Committee of Da Nang City) also approved the investment policy of the An Phu Apartment Complex Social Housing Project in Quang Phu Ward. The project has a scale of 700 apartments, a total capital of nearly 588 billion VND, and a land use area of ​​20,000 m2. The 9-storey buildings will be built with synchronous technical infrastructure and commercial and service facilities on the ground floor, expected to be constructed from the third quarter of this year to the fourth quarter of 2028.

The leaders of Da Nang city affirmed that the strong development of social housing not only solves the housing needs of the people but is also a key factor in attracting quality labor, contributing to retaining workers and experts, promoting sustainable development of industry and services. With a series of large-scale projects being and about to be implemented, the dream of having a stable roof for thousands of low-income households in Da Nang is becoming closer than ever.
