Da Nang: No flu vaccination overload

DNVN - According to the Da Nang Department of Health, up to this point, the flu situation in the city is recorded at a normal level compared to the same period in previous years, and there is no situation of flu vaccination overload.

According to a report on February 10 by the Da Nang Center for Disease Control (CDC), the flu situation in the city is currently at a normal level compared to the same period in previous years. Specifically, in November and December 2024, there were 185 cases of seasonal flu treated as inpatients at medical examination and treatment facilities in the city (out of a total of 989 cases in 2024, accounting for 18.7%); in January 2025, there were 122 cases of seasonal flu treated.

CDC Da Nang said that in the city, there are currently flu vaccination sites including CDC Da Nang; Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital (facility 1); Hospital 199 - Ministry of Public Security , VNVC Da Nang Vaccination Center, Thanh Khe, Cam Le, Son Tra, Ngu Hanh Son, Lien Chieu, Nam O; AMV Diagnostic Vaccination Center;

Vinmec General Hospital, Tam Tri; Thien Nhan High-Tech Medical Diagnosis Center; Long Chau Vaccination Center 104, 134, 113; Service Vaccination Room - Hoa Vang Medical Center; Benkin Thanh Khe Medical Service, Lien Chieu, Hoa Vang; and other units that provide influenza vaccination that meet the conditions.

Mr. Vo Thu Tung - Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health said that recently there has been some press reports reflecting the situation of people struggling to go from one vaccination center to another in the city but still cannot get vaccinated against the flu.

However, the leader of the Da Nang Department of Health affirmed that only a few flu vaccination facilities in the city are partially crowded due to people's demand for those vaccination facilities, while most other facilities are operating normally, without any overload.

According to data extracted from the National Immunization Information System from February 1 to 11:00 a.m. on February 10, only a few facilities recorded localized congestion such as VNVC Da Nang, Cam Le, Thanh Khe, Son Tra; Long Chau Vaccination Center 104, 113, 134; AMV Diagnostic 2 Vaccination Center. The remaining vaccination facilities operated normally.

Speaking to Vietnam Business, Dr. Phan Nguyen Tuong Vuong, in charge of the Vaccination Center (Thien Nhan High-Tech Medical Diagnosis Center), said that the number of people coming to get vaccinated against influenza here has increased in recent days, but not to the point of overload. Currently, the center has available the seasonal influenza vaccine Influvac Tetra (Netherlands) at the most reasonable cost.

“The vaccines are guaranteed to be genuine, preserved according to the Cold chain, keeping the vaccines in the best conditions. Our vaccination process has also been assessed by the Da Nang Department of Health as safe and of high quality, including testing - vaccination - emergency steps. In particular, Thien Nhan commits not to increase vaccine prices even when there is a shortage,” emphasized Dr. Phan Nguyen Tuong Vuong.
