Da Nang increases connection with global financial chain

On the afternoon of June 23, the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland coordinated with the Swiss-Vietnam Economic Forum (SVEF) to organize the annual event Vietnam-Switzerland Economic Forum 2025 in both in-person and online formats.

At the second session with the theme "Vietnam as an emerging international financial center", Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Da Nang City Dang Dinh Duc said that with its position as the economic, political and cultural center of the Central region, Da Nang not only plays a strategic role in terms of geographical and economic location, but is also a coastal city with a particularly important position in the development axis of the country. Da Nang possesses developed and connected infrastructure foundations, including Lien Chieu deep-water port, an expanding international airport, Da Nang High-Tech Park, a newly established free trade zone, quality human resources, good living and working conditions. These are all closely related factors that determine the success of forming a commercial, financial and innovation ecosystem.

The Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang city will focus on specialized areas: green finance, trade finance serving small and medium enterprises, innovative enterprises; controlled testing of a number of new models such as digital assets, digital money, digital payments; attracting investment funds, remittance funds, small and medium fund management companies; promoting the development of start-up projects providing financial solutions for consumer life, tourism , trade, logistics; support activities, consulting, development of related legal services...

The Switzerland-Vietnam Economic Forum 2025 focuses on knowledge sharing, connecting academic research experts and exploring solutions on sustainability and digital transformation, to help Vietnamese and Swiss businesses exchange cooperation potential in trade - investment, education - training, culture - tourism, finance, artificial intelligence development and semiconductor chips.
