On the afternoon of March 1, within the framework of the 2024 Cultural and Sports Festival of ethnic groups in Nho Quan district, a culinary competition took place.
11 delegations participating in the culinary contest from 27 communes, towns, the Ethnic Boarding High School and district agencies (Department of Education and Training, District Police, District Military Command) brought to the contest special dishes imbued with the culinary culture of localities and ethnic groups in the district.
The teams brought to the contest special dishes of the ethnic groups in the district such as: chin nap cake, beef rib cake; ribs rolled in grapefruit leaves; cassava rice, corn rice, sticky rice; steamed vegetables... These are traditional dishes that often appear in meals of the Muong ethnic group in Cuc Phuong, Quang Lac, Son Lai... during Tet and traditional festivals.
The Organizing Committee of the Contest has scored based on the following criteria: beautifully presented, creative, and distinctive dishes; rich dishes, unique flavors, and deliciousness. The contest is one of the activities regularly held during the Cultural and Sports Festival of ethnic groups in Nho Quan district to promote the unique culinary values of ethnic groups in the district, creating a space for people and tourists to enjoy the cuisine and experience the culinary culture of ethnic groups in the mountainous district of Nho Quan.
The contest is also an opportunity for delegations and localities to introduce culinary products to a large number of tourists attending the Festival, contributing to promoting and spreading the traditional culinary culture of ethnic groups in Nho Quan district.
