Attending the exhibition were: Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Member of the Politburo , Vice President of the Republic of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa.
The exhibition introduces 42 photos and propaganda posters by famous artists and photographers of the country. Cuba composed in the 60s and 70s of the 20th century. Thereby, expressing the spirit of solidarity, attachment, affection and responsibility of the Cuban people with the Vietnamese people in the fight against foreign invasion, gaining independence and unifying the country.
At the same time, this helps the world better understand the value of independence, freedom, justice and peace; and the painful losses that the Vietnamese people had to endure from the unjust war.
Speaking at the opening of the Exhibition, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Magazine Hoang Trung Dung believes that: Vietnam-Cuba solidarity was built by the two Parties and two States from strategic decisions and nurtured by the pure, deep, and sincere feelings between the people of the two countries.
As declared by Leader Fidel Castro: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its blood" became a great source of encouragement for the Vietnamese army and people to stand up against the invaders.
In particular, during the resistance war against imperialism, Cuba supported the Vietnamese army and people with many assets and weapons; during the renovation process, the Cuban people joined hands with the Vietnamese people to effectively implement coordination programs and promote socio-economic development.
“In the context of a changing, complex and unpredictable world situation, preserving, consolidating and developing friendship Vietnam-Cuba "The more strategic the relationship is, the more we believe that the Vietnam-Cuba relationship will continue to expand and develop," Comrade Hoang Trung Dung emphasized.
Speaking at the exhibition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco said, “The exhibition is a vivid demonstration of the Cuban people’s deep and enduring solidarity movement for Vietnam’s heroic resistance. The heroic victory of the Vietnamese people 50 years ago has united us today in the heroic city – Ho Chi Minh City. And many Cuban organizations such as the Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Asia, Africa and Latin America, the Latin American Student Organization, the Revolutionary Orientation Committee and the Cuban Institute of Arts and Cinema Industry have actively encouraged the creation and dissemination of these works rich in political and artistic values.”
Mr. Rogelio Polanco said that the exhibition is a tribute to the great leader of the Cuban Revolution - Fidel Castro - who always admired and was inspired by the great heroic epic of the people of Ho Chi Minh. Fidel himself, in the fiery land of Quang Tri in 1973, was moved to exclaim: "Whether one thousand years, two thousand years, five thousand years or ten thousand years later, future generations will forever remember the heroism of the Vietnamese people".
Associate Professor, Dr. Truong Thi Hien, President of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this is a meaningful activity that not only spreads sentiments to all Vietnamese people and young people in Ho Chi Minh City, but is also an opportunity for the Vietnamese public to better understand, be proud of and foster sentiments about the special and loyal relationship between Vietnam and Cuba over the past half century. Thereby, contributing to strengthening the close relationship and the steadfast relationship between the two Parties, the two States and the two peoples.
