The Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1055 to establish the National Steering Committee to implement Resolution No. 68 of the Politburo on private economic development (Steering Committee).
Two Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung (Standing Deputy Head of the Committee); Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang.
The Steering Committee invites: Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; representatives of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee; representatives of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee to be members of the Steering Committee.
In addition, the Steering Committee members also include leaders of the following Ministries and sectors: National Defense, Public Security, Justice, Finance, Construction, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment, Science and Technology, Education and Training, Home Affairs, Government Office, State Bank, Government Inspectorate and Chairmen of the People's Committees of the following cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Can Tho, Hue.
The Steering Committee members also include leaders of the following units: Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Private Economic Development Research Board.
The Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Finance to coordinate with relevant agencies to compile the list of Steering Committee members and report to the Prime Minister for consideration and decision.
The Decision clearly states that the Steering Committee is responsible for directing ministries, branches and localities to organize the implementation of Resolution No. 68 to ensure the achievement of the set goals.
The Steering Committee works part-time according to the principles of centralization, democracy, and public discussion, ensuring unified direction.
The Head of the Steering Committee chairs scheduled meetings and convenes extraordinary meetings when necessary. He may authorize the Deputy Head of the Steering Committee to chair meetings to discuss and decide on specific issues within the duties of the Steering Committee.
The Ministry of Finance is the standing body assisting the Steering Committee.
The Prime Minister assigned the Minister of Finance, Deputy Head of the Steering Committee, to decide on the establishment of a Working Group to assist the Steering Committee.
