Rated 4.3/5 stars and ranked 7th on the list, stir-fried water spinach with garlic is described as a traditional Vietnamese dish, especially suitable for vegetarians. Although it only uses simple ingredients such as water spinach, garlic, fish sauce, salt, sugar and oyster sauce, this dish is very delicious and attractive.
“The water spinach is first blanched, then stir-fried with garlic, salt and sugar, while fish sauce is added towards the end to enhance the flavour,” the popular website notes. The vegetable is usually eaten hot and is an ideal accompaniment to white rice.
Vietnamese stir-fried pho and stir-fried vermicelli with crab are ranked 13th and 39th respectively on the list. Stir-fried chayote with garlic (40th) and stir-fried snails (41st) also impress with their simple preparation but delicious and attractive flavors.
What is more special is that this list includes a specialty from Sa Pa. Stir-fried cat cabbage with smoked pork was ranked 52nd on the list by Taste Atlas thanks to its rich regional culinary flavors.
The dish is a perfect combination of rich smoked pork that is blanched before being stir-fried with cat's whiskers, a vegetable with a strong, slightly bitter taste but a sweet aftertaste that makes it more delicious the more you eat it.
