Hanoi Law University speaks out about the case of Mr. Thich Chan Quang

Regarding this information, a representative of Hanoi Law University said that they had received information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training that Mr. Thich Chan Quang (real name Vuong Tan Viet) was not on the list of high school diploma recipients for the supplementary cultural course on June 6, 1989.

This officer added that, in principle, when there is an official document from the management agency, the school will carry out the procedures according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. If Mr. Vuong Tan Viet uses a fake high school diploma, the units that have issued high degrees to Mr. Viet will carry out the procedures according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on the management of diplomas and certificates.

Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (Thich Chan Quang) was not on the list of candidates for the 1989 high school cultural supplementary graduation exam.

On August 13, confirming with Lao Dong, Mr. Le Hoai Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that he had sent a document reporting to the Government Committee for Religious Affairs - Ministry of Home Affairs about verifying the high school diploma of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet (Venerable Thich Chan Quang).

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, on July 30, the Department had a working session with the inspection team of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs - Ministry of Home Affairs to inform about the verification of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's learning process.

During the working session, the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the inspection team to review all records including the list of high school graduates and the list of names and scores of all candidates taking the exam on June 6, 1989.

At the end of the inspection process, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City confirmed the results of the review of the high school graduation exam records of Mr. Vuong Tan Viet, born in 1959, as follows:

Not on the list of candidates and the list of names and scores in the 1989 high school cultural supplementary graduation exam of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.

Not on the list of high school diploma holders of the supplementary cultural course on June 6, 1989 of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City.

Recently, Mr. Thich Chan Quang caused a stir when he successfully defended his doctoral thesis at Hanoi Law University in a period of 2 years and 3 months.

The representative of Hanoi Law University affirmed that the total time of doctoral training of student Vuong Tan Viet (ie Venerable Thich Chan Quang) until the decision to recognize the degree and grant the doctoral degree was 2 years and 3 months, meeting and complying with the doctoral training regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, and the decision of the school.

The Ministry of Education and Training has also issued an official dispatch requesting relevant units to report on the content related to Mr. Vuong Tan Viet's learning process. However, up to now, the Ministry of Education and Training has not made any announcement or information related to the conclusion of the incident.
