Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographers in Vinh Long province for the term 2024

(NADS) - On November 26, in the exciting atmosphere, Vinh Long province successfully organized the 1st Red Brick and Ceramic Festival - Green Economy in 2024, commemorating the 84th anniversary of the Southern Uprising (November 23, 1940 - November 23, 2024) and the 102nd birthday of the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet (November 23, 1922 - November 23, 2024). The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Vinh Long province held a General Assembly of all members for the 2024 - 2029 term.

Attending the Congress were: Artist Vo Duy Bang, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Artists Association in charge of the Mekong Delta region, representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Information and Communications, leaders of the Literature and Arts Association, representatives of the Party Affairs Department, Political Affairs Department of the Provincial Police, representatives of the Political Department of the Provincial Military Command, representatives of the Internal Political Security Department of the Provincial Police , representatives of the Artists Association of Tien Giang and Dong Thap, leaders and reporters of Vinh Long newspaper, Radio and Television Station, Central Artists Associations in the area, and Sub-Associations under the Literature and Arts Association.

Leaders of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee and Comrade Le Dong Khoi, Chief Inspector of the province attended and sent congratulatory flower baskets to the Congress. The Congress reviewed and evaluated the implementation of the resolution of the Photographic Artists Association in the past term and determined the direction, goals, tasks and solutions for the new term 2024-2029 and elected the Executive Committee of the Association.

The Vietnam Photographers Association of Vinh Long province currently has 12 members, including 1 artist with the title of Excellent Special Photographer (E.VAPA/G) and 1 artist with the title of ES.VAPA (Excellent Contribution). There is 1 member aged 80, 2 members aged 70, 1 member aged 65, 2 members aged 58, 1 member aged 56, 2 members aged 52, 1 member aged 42 and 1 member aged 29. By May 2024, 1 member had passed away due to old age and illness.

During the working process, in addition to their own efforts, the NSNAs always strive to be passionate about the art of photography, each member actively trains new members. During the term, the Association developed 3 NSNA members. Compared to the resolution target, it exceeded the set target, reaching 150%, successfully completing the resolution targets for the term (2019 - 2024). This is also the effort of the artists who have actively worked, always fulfilling the obligations of members of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

In addition, Vinh Long photographers have actively participated in competitions organized by the province, participated in the Mekong Delta Regional Art Photography Festival, competitions of sectors and localities at home and abroad... creating compositions on the themes of new rural areas, border and island propaganda, bringing home many valuable awards. In the art photography competitions from 2019 to 2023 alone, participating photographers have won many high awards, contributing to the overall achievements of the Association and provincial photography. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the tradition of Vietnamese Photography on March 15, 2023, the Association has organized many practical and effective activities: organizing a photo exhibition, coordinating with Vinh Long Radio and Television Station to make a documentary film "Vinh Long Photography - a journey", members have many articles published in local newspapers and magazines, Photography & Life...

At the Congress, the delegates elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2024-2029 term with 3 members: Artist Nguyen Vinh Hien as Chairman of the Association, Artist Nguyen Thanh Hai and Artist Nguyen Hoang Kha as Vice Chairman of the Association. The Congress elected the Association delegation to attend the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for the 2025-2030 term, including 5 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate. With the spirit of "solidarity, democracy, innovation, responsibility". After more than a session of active work, the Congress successfully completed the contents according to the program.
