On the morning of May 30, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCST) held its 8th Congress for the 2023-2028 term. Attending the Congress were comrade Truong Van Luy - Chairman of the Provincial Civil Servants' Union, comrade Tran Thi Lan Phuong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 145 union members.
During the past term, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism led the Trade Union Groups to achieve and exceed the targets set out in the Resolution of the Congress for the 2017-2023 term. Accordingly, the units closely followed the actual situation, concretized into programs and tasks, organized activities, and launched patriotic emulation movements among cadres and union members. They did a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members. In particular, the Trade Union continued to maintain the "Union Warm Roof" Fund movement, thereby mobilizing contributions of nearly 160 million VND; considering loans and recovering capital from the Union Warm Roof Fund for 65 people, with an amount of more than 330 million VND; supporting the construction of Union Warm Roof houses for 2 union members' families with an amount of 60 million VND.

With the slogan of action "Continue to innovate, improve the quality of trade union activities, for the benefit of union members and workers, build a strong and sustainable trade union organization" and the motto "Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development", the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism sets out the direction and goals for the term 2023 - 2028 including: Striving for the Trade Union to be annually evaluated and classified as having completed its tasks well; Innovating the method of community activities to meet the requirements of performing tasks in the new situation; Maintaining and upholding the title of culturally qualified agencies and units; 95% or more of union member households meeting the cultural family standards; Striving for 100% of trade union officials to be trained and fostered in professional expertise and trade union work skills during the term...
The Congress elected 11 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Trade Union for the 8th term, 2023 - 2028. Comrade Ly Vy Trieu Duong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism was elected as Chairman of the Trade Union. The Congress also elected a delegation to attend the Congress of the Trade Union at a higher level, including 10 official delegates and 1 alternate delegate.
