Previously, a waterway traffic accident occurred in Ha Long Bay, killing 39 people. Immediately after the incident, Quang Ninh province mobilized all functional forces to organize search and rescue work in complicated weather conditions. The province also resolutely directed the handling of the incident, at the same time supported the victims' families in arranging funeral arrangements, moving the bodies and encouraging relatives to overcome the pain.
The grand memorial service is not only a farewell and a tribute to the deceased, but also demonstrates Vietnamese culture in expressing gratitude and sharing the loss with families whose loved ones unfortunately died in the accident on Ha Long Bay. Thereby, it demonstrates the responsibility, humanitarian spirit and deep sympathy of the province with the victims’ relatives, continuing to strengthen the people’s trust in the local government in handling emergency situations and protecting the safety of tourists.
The province will continue to review and tighten the management of waterway traffic safety, especially in Ha Long Bay and other key tourist destinations. In particular, it will focus on checking and monitoring the technical conditions of vehicles, crew capacity, rescue work, as well as compliance with regulations on waterway passenger transport; promote the application of technology in the management of vehicles, travel routes, weather conditions and safety warning information, in order to improve the effectiveness of accident prevention and emergency handling. Thereby, aiming to build a civilized, safe and friendly tourism environment.
