Ambassadors of countries congratulate Vietnam on its development achievements

On the occasion of Vietnam solemnly organizing activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Ambassadors of countries in Vietnam shared congratulatory messages on the important holiday of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.

Sharing with VNA reporters, Lao Ambassador to Vietnam Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that the Victory on April 30, 1975 is a symbol of ardent patriotism, the strength of national unity, the resilient and heroic fighting spirit of the army and people of the whole country, and the strong aspiration of the Vietnamese people for independence, freedom, peace and happiness. This is also a typical victory of the world's revolutionary forces, contributing to strongly promoting the struggle of the world's people for the goal of independence, peace, democracy and social progress.

“The April 30 victory was a world-shaking victory and a historic turning point not only for the Vietnamese people but also of great significance for the Lao and Cambodian revolutions as well as the world revolution, contributing to promoting the struggle of the world's people for the goals of national independence, peace , democracy and social progress, encouraging the spirit of the peoples who are carrying out the struggle for liberation, against imperialism, and defeating neo-colonialism in Indochina as well as in the world,” the Ambassador stated.

According to Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh, Laos and Vietnam have formed a special alliance and solidarity in fighting, and with special affection, the Lao Party, State and people have fully supported and created favorable conditions for Vietnam to open the " Ho Chi Minh Trail" through Lao territory to "cut through Truong Son to save the country", completely liberate South Vietnam, and unify the country. That noble and extremely great sacrifice became an unparalleled strength, a great source of motivation, contributing to bringing the revolutions of Vietnam and Laos to a great victory in 1975, ending decades of war, creating a miracle of victory over colonialists and imperialists. The victory that the Vietnamese army and people have achieved is a great source of encouragement for the people of all Lao ethnic groups in the cause of defending and developing the country. The Lao Party, State and people consider this achievement and victory as their own.

During the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the Lao People's Army also participated in the parade. Ambassador Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that this participation shows us the traditional friendship spirit, the special solidarity between the people and armies of Laos and Vietnam, and at the same time affirms the most friendly relationship between the armies of the two countries.

Along with Laos, during the resistance war against the US to save the country, Vietnam received support from the Party, army and people of China. Congratulating Vietnam on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, Chinese Ambassador Ha Vi emphasized that this is an important symbolic event, marking the completion of Vietnam's national reunification and the beginning of the path to developing a strong and independent country.

“During this process, we admire the resilience, solidarity and cooperation of the Vietnamese people, Party and Government, as well as the spirit of fighting against external aggression,” the Ambassador shared.

The Chinese Ambassador emphasized that during the process of national liberation and reunification of Vietnam, the Chinese Party and Government always gave the Party, Government and people of Vietnam the most steadfast and greatest support.

"On this occasion, our two countries will further engrave history, look to the future, continuously inherit and promote the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, together build a bright future for the relationship between the two countries, and write a new chapter of Vietnam-China friendship," Ambassador Ha Vi expressed.

At the invitation of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Honor Guard participated in the parade at the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day of Vietnam. Ambassador Ha Vi affirmed that this deeply demonstrated the friendship and trust between the two countries and the two armies.

The Ambassador also said that the image of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Honor Guard practicing a military parade on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City was posted as a video on social media in China and received positive responses from the Chinese online community. Many Chinese people expressed their desire to visit Vietnam to see the friendly country of Vietnam, as well as learn about Vietnam's development achievements and natural beauty.

Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes affirmed that the victory on April 30, 1975 was an extraordinary testament to the will, sacrifice, intelligence and solidarity of the Vietnamese people, under the wise leadership of the Party and the legacy of President Ho Chi Minh, who defeated the most powerful war machine of the US imperialists, achieved complete victory in the South and realized the dream of national reunification.

“That victory was a great source of encouragement for revolutionary forces and anti-colonial and anti-imperialist movements around the world. President Ho Chi Minh predicted that it would be a worthy contribution to the national liberation movement,” the Ambassador said, praising the remarkable development of the brotherly country of Vietnam under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam after 50 years of national reunification.

“Fifty years after the beautiful spring that brought the country back from the ashes and poverty, Vietnam has once again achieved a great miracle: peace, prosperity and justice - something that can only be achieved thanks to the dedication, creativity and solidarity of an entire nation,” Ambassador Rogelio Polanco Fuentes shared.

In his congratulatory message to Vietnam on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Vietnam Kanat Tumysh expressed his deep personal pride in being born in the year of Vietnam's reunification, and sent his warmest congratulations and admiration for the Vietnamese people.

Ambassador Kanat Tumysh also expressed his joy at Vietnam's strong development steps, believing that current reform efforts will achieve good results, entering a new era of development, with double-digit growth, and entering the top countries with the most developed economies in the world.

Expressing his joy at experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of the Vietnamese people's important holiday, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Vietnam Shovgi Kamal Oglu Mehdizade shared: "I saw many people walking and taking pictures on the street, especially at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Many children wore shirts printed with the Vietnamese flag. At that moment, I also wanted to go out to share the feelings of pride and joy with everyone. The patriotism of the Vietnamese people is very high and it was wonderful to see flags hanging on all the windows. Many women even wore hats with the Vietnamese flag. The atmosphere was really warm."

Considering that the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is also an opportunity to look back at Vietnam's remarkable development over the past 50 years, Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Bird emphasized that Vietnam's transformation over the past half century - becoming one of the fastest growing economies in the region and a major manufacturing and investment center - is truly remarkable.

According to the Ambassador, the achievements are a testament to the value of peace as well as the will and persistent efforts of the Party, State and people of Vietnam in pursuing the goal of development and prosperity for the country. The Ambassador said that since establishing diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1973, Australia has always been proud of the partnership between the two countries.
