On October 11, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain Carmen Cano De Lasala had a working session with the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) and interacted with students on the occasion of the school's official launch of the Spanish Event Center.

At the meeting, Ms. Carmen Cano De Lasala introduced and shared about the culture, heritage, and economy of Spain, especially the diplomatic relations with Vietnam. The Ambassador also interacted with students of the school, sharing information about the policy of enhancing educational cooperation and student exchange between Spain and Vietnam.

She encourages students to learn Spanish or any other language because students have many opportunities to explore the world around them and broaden their thinking; cultural differences are just a very small factor, students can quickly adapt and integrate well.

"I think the important thing about connection and integration is that there are many opportunities for young people like you to learn other languages. Because behind the language is not only the language but also the culture, which helps you broaden your horizons and access new worlds. In today's era, the world has changed a lot, moving and traveling has become easier and that is why we want to promote exchange programs between students, lecturers, agencies and members of the organization", said Ms. Carmen Cano De Lasala.

Within the framework of the program, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance, emphasized the current and future strategy of internationalizing education. The school's goal is to expand cooperation with universities, organizations, and businesses in Spain to enhance learning activities and cultural exchanges for students.

In recent times, in addition to Spanish language training courses, the school has also regularly organized international activities related to Spain such as "Spanish and Friends' Day", workshops "Economic value of Spanish language", "Tango Weeks"... Through practical experiences, students have the opportunity to develop foreign language skills, access rich knowledge about the economy and culture of this country.

The Spanish Event Center established at UEF will help provide quality international exchange programs and events for students.

On this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance officially established the Spanish Event Center to create a professional space to organize diplomatic receptions with units, organizations, businesses, associations, partners; representatives of Spanish universities to cooperate and work. The school will increase foreign language classes and clubs related to languages; soft skills courses related to Spanish and Latin American art and cuisine; organize events, forums, seminars, exhibitions on Spanish culture and art.
