Ho Chi Minh City supports 10 billion VND and 500 tons of goods for people in flood-hit areas of Dak Lak

On the evening of November 25, in Dong Hoa ward (Dak Lak province), comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to support people in flood-hit areas of Dak Lak province.

Comrade Nguyen Phuoc Loc said that on November 24, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City received a request letter from the Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee, asking for support in resources for emergency relief, supporting people affected by floods, and promptly rebuilding local infrastructure.

On the morning of November 25, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a meeting and decided to donate 10 billion VND, 500 tons of goods and send 50 doctors divided into five groups to support Dak Lak province. Thereby, sharing the losses that Dak Lak people suffered during the recent floods. In addition to the above support, 28 departments and branches of Ho Chi Minh City will contact 28 departments and branches of Dak Lak to provide corresponding support.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also coordinated with the Buddhist Sangha of Ho Chi Minh City to set up a field kitchen in Dak Lak (at the headquarters of the Military Command of Dong Hoa Ward) to support people in flooded areas, ensuring that no one goes hungry or cold. The field kitchen has a capacity of about 10,000 meals per day and will start on the morning of November 26. The field kitchen will be operated overnight with the help of hundreds of volunteers from Ho Chi Minh City and Dak Lak.

On the same occasion, the Phu Yen Association in Ho Chi Minh City donated 1.5 billion VND and 200 tons of goods and necessities; Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper donated 500 million VND and 200,000 notebooks; Tien Phong Newspaper donated 7 tons of rice to the people of Dak Lak province to overcome the consequences of the floods.

Receiving support from the working group, Mr. Tran Huu The, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Lak province, said that the people and the provincial government highly appreciate and are grateful for the valuable help of the Party Committee, government and people of Ho Chi Minh City for the locality in the current very difficult situation. The locality will make the most effective use of the gifts from Ho Chi Minh City.
