Vietnamese Ambassador wishes Laos a Happy New Year Boun Pi May 2023

According to a VNA reporter in Laos, on the morning of April 4, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hung, led a delegation of key officials from the Embassy and agencies adjacent to the Embassy to the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Vientiane to celebrate the traditional Lao New Year Boun Pi May 2023 (2566 according to the Buddhist calendar).

  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos Saleumxay Kommasith and representatives of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs respectfully received the delegation. On behalf of the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese representative agencies in Laos, Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung sent best wishes to the Lao Party, State and people on the occasion of the traditional New Year of Boun Pi May 2023, as well as wishes for health, happiness and success to the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister and all officials and employees of the Lao Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung respectfully announced that on the occasion of the traditional New Year of Boun Pi May of Laos, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue will all send New Year greetings and beautiful flower baskets to the leaders of the Lao Party and State. Expressing his joy and sharing joy with the Lao Party, State and people when the COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled and major festivals in Laos have been held normally again, Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung also highly appreciated the active, strong and decisive leadership of the Lao Government, emphasizing the role of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone as well as the role of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Saleumxay Kommasith who have made very positive contributions to creating changes that have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Diplomatic Corps in Laos. Emphasizing that the Party, State and people of Vietnam are very pleased with the positive changes in Laos in recent times, Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung expressed his belief that in 2023, the Lao Party, State and people will continue to achieve new achievements, continue to stabilize the socio -economic situation, and bring Laos back to sustainable development in the near future.

  Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith expressed his deep gratitude to the leaders of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for always appreciating and helping the Party, State and people of Laos in all aspects, especially during the period when Laos faced economic difficulties; affirming that this once again demonstrated the special relationship between Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam, which is "unique" in the world. The Lao Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister also expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Nguyen Ba Hung and the entire Embassy and representative agencies of Vietnam in Laos for coming to congratulate the Lao traditional New Year Bun Pi May; wishing the Ambassador and the Embassy staff good health, happiness and success in all tasks assigned by the Party and State.
