The Department has taken the lead in coordinating the information rescue force, requiring telecommunications enterprises to focus on restoring important transmission lines and base transceiver stations (BTS) in deep flooded areas and isolated areas; at the same time, coordinating with local authorities to open access for technical teams, prioritizing information restoration at evacuation points and forward command posts. In addition, the Department closely monitors network safety, requires strengthening security measures, backing up data and maintaining direct monitoring of the system during the period when floods are still complicated.
Prolonged heavy rains have isolated many low-lying communes, especially in the Eastern region, causing widespread power outages; telecommunications infrastructure in many places has been severely disrupted. According to a quick report from the enterprise, as of 4:00 p.m. on November 24, 2025, technical staff were still at the scene in difficult conditions to restore the network.
Viettel recorded that 100/350 BTS stations lost signal during the flood peak; all have now been restored. The company mobilized 400 technicians and added mobile broadcasting stations in isolated areas to maintain continuous connection.
VNPT lost signal at 246/460 BTS stations; 31 stations are currently being handled. The unit reinforced 220 technicians from neighboring provinces, deploying mobile BTS stations to serve communication for people and rescue forces.
Mobifone recorded 240/415 stations being interrupted, and up to now, 43 stations have not been restored to operation. The company mobilized 77 personnel from 27 information rescue teams, brought mobile generators to the stations without power, and deployed mobile broadcasting stations to temporarily expand coverage.
The Department of Science and Technology continues to maintain consistent direction, requiring businesses to speed up recovery progress, ensuring stable communication as soon as possible to serve the direction, management and support of people in areas still affected by floods.
