The People's Committee of Dak Nong province has just issued a document assigning the Department of Agriculture and Environment to advise on a plan to direct functional agencies to control prices and supply sources of construction materials, especially sand and stone.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment has invited leaders of relevant departments and sectors to a meeting to grasp the situation of sand supply and price. After receiving opinions from departments and sectors, the Department of Agriculture and Environment will propose solutions to ensure a long-term supply of construction materials for the construction of public investment projects.

Previously, Dak Nong Newspaper reported on the scarcity of construction sand in the province and skyrocketing prices.
Currently, each cubic meter of construction sand in Dak Nong is being sold from agents to consumers for about 1 million VND. The price of plastering sand is higher, about 1.2 million VND/ cubic meter .
This is a record price recorded in Dak Nong. Compared to the average sand price in the area (about 400,000 - 500,000 VND/ m3 ), the price of sand has increased 2.5 times.
Sand prices have skyrocketed but supply is currently very scarce. The reason is that licensed sand mines in Dak Nong have stopped operating or are only exploiting at a limited level.
The skyrocketing price of sand and its scarcity have created enormous pressure on the construction industry in Dak Nong, especially at a time when Dak Nong province is speeding up the construction progress of a series of large public investment projects.
In Dak Nong, the Provincial People's Committee has granted 7 construction sand mining licenses with a total capacity of 182,000m3/ year . All licensed units exploit sand on the Krong No River, in the communes of Quang Phu, Dak Nang, Nam N'dir and Buon Choah.
