Landslides caused by storms and rains have been promptly repaired, creating favorable conditions for people to travel smoothly, contributing to reducing traffic accidents.

National Highway 2C section through Son Nam commune (Son Duong) is always maintained and repaired to ensure smooth traffic.

Tuyen Quang has 7 national highways running through it, including National Highways 2, 37, 2C, 279, 3B, 2D and National Highway 280 with a total length of 563.77 km; 4 provincial roads DT185, DT186, DT188, DT189 with a total length of 451.43 km. District roads are more than 1,100 km long and urban roads are more than 300 km long. In order to effectively maintain roads, the Department of Construction has focused on directing relevant units to strictly implement the direction of the Ministry of Construction , the Vietnam Road Administration and the province in the maintenance and protection of road traffic safety corridors. The province effectively uses the central and local road maintenance funds and transport career capital to implement the annual regular maintenance and repair plan; Select capable contractors to carry out management and maintenance of national highways entrusted by the Ministry of Construction.

The Department of Construction has directed and assigned staff to monitor, supervise and inspect the performance of duties by road patrol staff and road maintenance units; handle or coordinate the handling of acts of encroachment on road works...

In 2024 and the first 4 months of 2025, the traffic system was severely damaged, with the cost of repairing National Highways alone reaching 15.8 billion VND; districts and cities had 32,120 m of local roads damaged with 290,930 m3 of landslides at 1,512 locations, flooding 14,324 m of roads, 30 bridges and 13 culverts damaged; not to mention damage to construction ditches, reinforced curbs, subsidence and cracking of bridge cones, embankment walls, upstream and downstream drainage culverts... estimated damage of about 135.7 billion VND.

In the early morning of May 10, 2025, in Tuyen Quang city and some districts, there was heavy rain and storm, causing flooding on some roads (17/8 Street, Nguyen Van Linh Street, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, urban development axis road, some locations on National Highway 2 and National Highway 37, some district roads, provincial roads..., causing damage to people's houses, some trees, power lines fell down, leading to traffic jams, posing many potential dangers...

Comrade Luu Viet Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction affirmed: Right from the beginning of the year, the beginning of the rainy season, the Department has issued documents directing and guiding districts, cities, and road management units, so immediately after heavy rain and storms occurred, local authorities and management units promptly grasped the situation, basically quickly resolved the incidents that occurred, to ensure smooth traffic in the shortest time and minimize potential dangers.

Mr. Vu Tien Son, Director of the Road Repair Section, said: The Department of Construction periodically inspects, accepts, and evaluates the implementation of the unit. Thanks to regular technological innovation, application of modern machinery, and new and effective management methods, the unit has successfully completed the task of managing and maintaining provincial roads with a total length of more than 160 km.

The Department of Construction requires departments, offices and units to continue to strictly manage regular maintenance and repair contracts, and conduct acceptance of completed volumes according to the terms of the contract. At the same time, step up inspection work and be proactive in flood and storm prevention, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, promptly handling situations that occur, meeting the transportation and travel needs of the people.
